Indian cuisine is always a fail-safe favourite, nowhere in Netley does it quite like Purbani, a charming Indian restaurant on Victoria Road. With its elegant decor, Purbani is the perfect place to celebrate a special occasion, and on the menu you’ll find the curry house classics that we all know and love, as well as an array of lesser-known specialities, meaning there’s a little bit of something for everyone. We recommend going for one of the house specials like the shugunda (a rich and fruit dish made using lightly cinnamon-spiced butter, ground almonds and cream, topped with mangoes and lychees). A favourite among Southampton spice lovers, spaces are Purbani are limited, so book a table in advance to avoid missing out.
Friendly, polite staff and great service, with delicious food, strongly recommend, would have no hesitation going back, only downside the evening passed to quickly, sign of a good time.
Food excellent and good value particularly the sardine bhajee from the Christmas menu. Good athmosphere and very friendly and helpful service as always. Will be back soon.
Fab food and staff were lovely. Great value will return for sure. A lovely calm atmosphere after a long drive.we were recommended by a friend to go and she is a regular. I can see why.
Dishes were absolutely amazing, so full of flavours, like no curry I have ever had before. Service was excellent too :-) will definitely be going back
Always a lovely experience. The food is incredible with great portion size and full of flavour. Well catered for those who love spice and equally for those who don't. Very friendly staff, well priced and warm atmosphere. Can't recommend it enough!
What a Fantastic place. The food is consistently good as we have had takeaway from here before. The service was exceptional the waiters were very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Definitely going back.
I have been to this restaurant several times after moving to Netley Abbey last summer. The standard of food is always excellent and the staff are very friendly. I highly recommend a visit.
Great evening! Would highly recommend the chicken tikka dhansak which we had to accompany half a tandoori chicken and sag ghobi. All very reasonably priced and great service.
A good variety of well cooked Indian cuisine, including an excellent choice of mild as well as spicy dishes. Staff are attentive and efficient. Restaurant is clean, well laid out and quiet.
Table for 2 are very cramped when food arrives, food was excellent, staff were friendly, location good. Restaurant not suitable for disabled as toilets are downstairs which are very steep steps.
