River Spice - Reading

Good food, chunky and fresh veggies, the staff were very busy in the Saturday night so it took us a while to order and receive our meal but all good when it arrived

We enjoyed our food (Chicken Tikka Masala, Lamb Pathia, Veggie Vindaloo, Aloo Palak & Gobi Bhajee) though my Vindaloo was quite greasy and the pappadoms not the best. The atmosphere was quite noisy and the service slightly harried, probably because it was Saturday night, but the food arrived swiftly once we managed to catch the vendor's attention.

Great restaurant, highly recommended, book as soon as you can

We haven't been to River Spice for a while, but we weren't disappointed. The food was delicious as always and the service has really improved. Would definitely recommend.

The short waiter was moody and seemed to have attitude - enough to make me reconsider going back even though the food was delicious. We had the wrong bill presented to us and the short, moody waiter didn't even apologise - just seemed to be even more moody! All the other waiters were very polite and happy - but it just takes one to sour the evening.

we use this restaurant on a regular basis and we have very high standards within a diverse workforce. our meals average between 4-14 staff and this is our first choice for every team meal out. i used to eat here with my previous employers, so it was an easy choice for my new team

We stay in Caversham a few times a year and always eat here. Unfortunately, on this occasion, there was a large party in the restaurant, and the food and service were not quite up to the usual standard. However, this will not put us off visiting again.

We came here for first time on 30th August and whilst the decor needs some attention and updating (which is why it didn't get absolute top marks) the food and service was amazing, the flavours were divine and the staff couldn't be more helpful. We will be coming back.

We tried this Indian for the first time and we like Indian and there was a pert if 4 of us and all 4 said that it was the best meal we have ever had , we will be back for Shaw and we will be telling family and friends to try this place .

Just by Caversham bridge, opposite the Crown Plaza through an underpass with nice views over the Thames, good service and food. The butter chicken was excellent and the cauliflower side dish. My vegetable biryani was fine but could have been more spicy. Mid range prices, a small car park and near the 24/23 bus route and Caversham centre.

Great location and lovely food, staff very tentative plus great value. Will be back soon.

Only one toilet working,food not up to normal standard. Just feel it’s not as good as it use to be.

As usual, the Sunday buffet offering here is of a very high standard, with a good selection of choices available. Even with the slightly higher price than previously, it's still excellent value.
