Really lovely evening with authentic Italian food a great atmosphere and exceptional customer service. This is our second visit and now our favourite little Italian restaurant.
Lovely food, and reasonably priced, as are the drinks. The young couple who run this place offer great food and great hospitality. I have nothing negative to say
Route 5 is an excellent restaurant that serves authentic Italian food with the emphasis on dishes from Sicily and the Abruzzo region. The owners have a genuine passion for what they are doing and this shows in the quality and flavour of the food, the friendly service and relaxed atmosphere. All of their dishes are good and they cook their pasta to perfection - al dente, perfect. Their prices are really good value too. Route 5 offers a good selection of regional wines (Sicilian and from the Abruzzo region) and also serves cocktails as a bonus! Route 5 is an important addition to Southend-on-Sea's culinary scene. Tasty home cooked food using great quality produce , you may have to wait a bit for the food as all freshly cooked to order- which I like - family run restaurant a lovely relaxed atmosphere- highly recommended, we have been several times and taken friends there, everyone has come away praising it and saying would definitely go back .
