Only the finest of wines make it on to the Sager + Wilde drink list, handpicked by the bar’s expert owners who have garnered years of experience touring the vineyards of South America. Expect to find a large range of the wines from around the world, including an array of rare bottles.
Also on the menu is a selection of small dishes. As aesthetically pleasing as they are tasty, these Instagram-worthy small plates include a pork pistachio and prune terrine with cornichons and dijon mustard, and baby courgettes served with tahini and mint. A range of charcuterie meats and speciality cheeses are also available, serving as the perfect accompaniment to your bottle of wine. This sleek Haggerston wine bar draws in a large crowd from all over Hoxton, Bethnal Green and further afield, so we recommended to book your reservation at Sager + Wilde well in advance.
Great wine, great service, great cheese toasties, great music! Really can't fault Sager + Wilde, and the wines are always interesting and delicious. Highly recommended.
This wine bar never seizes to deliver. On style, on atmosphere and, of course, on wine. Maybe not the best place to come as a single however, you might feel slightly overwhelmed by the number of dates happening around you...
Lovely wine and nibbles, great atmosphere. Also went next door to Morito for dinner after. This is fast becoming a very 'goody' part of London. Highly recommended.
great wines, great space, great atmosphere and great staff, we had a lovely time and tasted far too much wine. Will definitely be returning soon.
It's a very nice and hip looking place. Very small and the chairs are pretty uncomfortable and it's really loud in there. The food is nice although it'd be great to have some more variety. The wine is excellent. But all pretty pricy. We were 4 people and walked out with a huge bill. We asked for wine recommendations and the bottles that were recommended were super expensive. It was a bit disappointing that they didn't tell us about the price. Overall a nice place but I wouldn't go there again. There are much nicer places that are less pricy.
Service Excellent, lively and interesting place with good varied food and an interesting wine list. Having been to sister venue The Mission (now renamed I think) in Bethnal Green our expectations were high. Wine wasn't quite as good or as 'different' as we expected and eating lots of little plates and drinking wine by the glass soon sent the price up. £100 for two a bit people before service seemed steep. Would recommend though just explaining why not top marks.
We had an amazing night at S&W - staff were all excellent and they recommended some delicious wines. We also had all the food on the menu (!), which was amazing and super tasty. Went really well with the wines and was all fresh and felt relatively healthy... I love this place and always enjoy my evenings there.
Very intimate and small place with an amazing wine list of some 400+ references! Very local and friendly. The only downside from my side was the very limited selection of wines by the glass (7 reds and 7 whites) and the small nibble/food selection. Probably because my expectations were higher from feedback received. Other than that, really nice. Quite pricy as well. I would however go back again!
Great atmosphere, service, and wine! We tried a bottle of burgundy and a few glasses of a very old, excellent Italian wine. I went to their Paradise Row location a few days later, and when I emailed to ask about a wine I drank there, I received a super fast, detailed and friendly response.
Lovely little candlelit bar. Was busy but didn't feel crowed. The waiters were attentive but not pushy, the music was atmospheric and upbeat but you could still easily hear yourself speak. And you can book tables for drinks too! So brilliant for a low-key evening with wine loving friends or a date.
Great wine, really friendly service and lovely atmosphere! We also really liked the mystery wine - the waiter's pick I think! It's quite cosy so there isn't much space to put away coats but that's the only negative comment I can make!
Fantastic wine bar, doesn't take itself too seriously. We got to explore some wonderful New Zealand wines and to meet some of the winemakers during our most recent visit. The cheese boards are always beautiful and are sourced nearby which is wonderful.
I love this place! It was my boyfriend's birthday and I chose to come here because I wanted something relatively low-key, small and warm, great wine...and great toasties. The staff are lovely, really helpful and friendly. We will be back soon :)
Great spot on trendy Hackney Road, good service with knowledgeable staff who were able to offer suggestions as we were not familiar with the wines on the wine list. Great atmosphere in a cozy setting, we will definitely be back.
Amazing wine- lovely blonde (french?) waitress knew her stuff! Really busy but in a good vibe way!even the olives were good- and the smell of a cheese toastie was so so tempting, even after having had dinner! Thanks S&W
Gorgeous, buzzy neighbourhood wine bar with an fantastic selection of wines and really knowledgeable, friendly staff. Wine can be tried by the glass or bottle and is complimented really well by some delicious snacks (try the toastie!) Highly recommended!
They forgot our olives and didn't bring a knife for our cheese, also the waitress dropped our crackers And we waited a while for new ones.. But! The staff were. Super friendly everything was delicious and I would go there again in a heart beat
The place has a good vibe and very original design Been there few times but not overly excited about the two different glasses of wine I had... Overall is a very recomended place for a date or just a chat with a friend or two.
This is a very interesting place, with a nice selection of wines, and a really cool atmosphere to have a warm night with friends. Located in the trendy Hackney Road, so that is another plus as well.
We had a lot of fun! Outstanding wines and super cool staff! Do not hesitate to talk with the staff about the wines you are looking for, they are really knowledgeable. And save them a sip! ;)
Book early for this lovely cool little wine bar. Warm atmosphere & Friendly service. We want to come back, back & back again!! It's one of those places where everything falls in place. Amazing place for dates
Lovely wine, lovely service in a rather (but not too) east London joint. It is pricey, especially with the 10% service charge, but if you're taking your time over the drinks, it's probably worth it for the table and ambiance.
Nice wine bar with some tapas to share. The food was quite enjoyable, and the venue has a cozy feeling in a modern setting. The wine is definitely the highlight, the bartender and staff definitely knew what they were serving.
Sager & Wilde is a fabulous neighborhood wine bar. Always a great vibe, exemplary service and unbeatable wine!! They also have a great snack selection - check out the Cheese and Jalapeno toastie.
Cool wine bar that is stocked with difficult to get and funky wines. You will be hard pressed to find a staff that knows more about their product than this group. Highly recommend.
Lively and informal bar, good staff. Lovely Ganevat Savagnin. Didn't try the food. The wine list is not so long that you don't know what to choose, and is interesting. Would highly recommend
We have been to Sager & Wilde before and really love it, the staff are so welcoming and knowledgeable, the wine is great and the food is always delicious, will be back again!
Wine and food were great - lovely burrato with tomatoes in olive oil. Our waitress was very warm but others seemed generally less interested in the customers. It wasn't particularly comfortable and our table was wedged in an open door - but it was welcome on a hot day!
Beautiful and cozy, with special wines. Booked a table but was put at one of the quite cramped bar tables in the back, so not exactly somewhere we would stay for very long - after about an hour the stools were really uncomfortable so we headed elsewhere to eat.
I've always enjoyed my time at Sager, the wine and service is always brilliant. Music is at perfect level so it's easy to talk to, definitely one of my favourite drinking establishments!
Thank you for a lovely evening, my and my boyfriend met in Sager a year ago and on Monday had our anniversary! :) It is my most favourite London wine bar.
The staff is always very friendly and helpful, wine selection changes almost everyday and they are very knowledgeable about their wines. Perfect place for a drink out of the Shoreditch crowds.
Excellent vibe and great wines! If you are interested in great wines, there is no better place to go and taste with confidence and learn about what is in your glass.
We love the atmpsphere, friendlyness and great service whenever we're back at S+W. Could only wish we lived a little bit closer - we're already looking forward to our next trip and new wines by the glass!
One of my favourite bars in London. The service is always fab, brilliant wines (I always discover a new favourite) and lovely atmosphere that is intimate but not too formal
Good experience. My only disappointment was that at arrival they were only 2 tables left and both were reserved. The better table out of the 2 was given away to a couple of blaggers who had not booked and left us by the door.
great wines, great cheese, great atmosphere minimum of 25 word rule for reviews is making me write this extra words because i dont have 25 words for any restaurant
Great! Wines were delicious. Waiters were very knowledgeable about the wines. The nibbles were delicious. And had a nice New York vibe, super cozy and all around great atmosphere
Great wine and an atmosphere to match. The srvice was attentive and the staff were knowledgeable on the wine and would happily talk about where it was from
A great place for a date or girls night out. The wine selection is really good and the ambience was even better. Looking forward to the next time!
Lovely little place. Good wine list - long and short form - with interesting wines. Snacks were very good, and reasonably priced. A lovely accompaniment to the wine.
Amazing restaurant, amazing service! These guys know their wine! With great recommendations from the waitress and the perfect setting for a lovely evening! We will 100% be returning
Great wine selection, engaged interested staff, small space so the fact they take bookings was a total bonus, also good bread, will be going back agian soon.
great food, wine and atmosphere, definitely would recommend it. Steak Tartar with chips was incredible, highly rate the crispy chicken skins also. Thanks for a great evening
Great ambiance, great wine, great service. Went for a special NZ wine night, and they agreed to split glasses into tasting sizes so we could sample more.
This place is gorgeous! The ambiance and decor make it so inviting when you walk in. The staff are friendly and attentive and and wines are lovely!
great food! its one of those unique places that combines all your favourite flavours in London in one place! its no frills so dont expect fine dining!
Great wine bar, unpretentious, fantastic selection of wines by the glass. A real gem and well worth a visit if you're around Hoxton, Shoreditch or Bethnal Green.
Really lovely atmosphere and decor. It wasn't too busy either, considering it's location and the time we went. Nice wine (maybe a little expensive) and lovely staff.
We went last night in a big group of 12. They say us really quickly and the space has Great atmosphere and quick service- staff really friendly and knowledgeable about the menu
