I've eaten a lot of Mexican food and this is the best i've had in the UK!!!! Really nice staff & the owner is a total dude. Go here, it's worth it!
The place is really cute and cosy, with excellent food and drinks to match. The service was a little slow, with various waiters forgetting our request for water and some of our drinks not arriving. In spite of this, I would definitely recommend it and go back for more of the delicious barbacoa tacos.
The food was amazing, especially the pork tacos, hibiscus quesadillas and the churros! Staff was so lovely and the chef came out to say hi and see how we were liking the food. I will definitely come again!
Santo Remedio’s co-owner and self-taught chef, Edson Diaz-Fuentes, has been mixing Mexican in the kitchen since the age of five – needless to say that this bustling Old Street Mexican hotspot on Rivington Street offers the richest blend of Mexican flavours possible. Santo Remedio is a collaboration between family and friends, bringing authentic traditional Mexican food to East London, and its success is evident in the numbers that pack out this humble, homely venue.
Dig in to perfectly grilled octopus spiced up with Mexico’s famed Pasilla de Oaxaca chilli or a hearty, silky broth of pozole. Challenge your preconceptions of Mexican food with unconventional dishes like crispy Oaxacan grasshoppers. You’re likely to be hopping back to Old Street’s Santo Remedio for their simple, uncomplicated Mexican, but if you’re elsewhere in London the Rivington Street restaurant also offers catering services to bring the fiesta right to your doorstep.
