Always fabulous, awesome food! We have been to Shebeen many times although this was our first at the Dalry branch. We are never disappointed, great atmosphere.

Excellent food, and service was fantastic to start off with. However, service tailed off around dessert time, maybe there was a change of shift, but then we struggled to get the bill, and then waited a while to get it paid.

Very good as always, had a great experience and the food was good as always. Service is always exceptional and very quick. A definite must visit!

Shebeen has a very high and consistent strong performance. The food was big portions and exceptional quality. Definitely the best steaks in Edinburgh. A definite must for authentic South African food.

As always excellent food, The staff are great and overall the experience was really really good, If you are visiting Edinburgh then this is certainly worth a visit.

Nice food. Booked 6pm table, that was required back for 8pm,. We expected this, however we did feel rushed. We were reminded several times that the table was required at 8pm. We vacated our table at 7.45 and went to another place for dessert.

Unfortunately or steaks, all rib eye were tough. We sent one back which was replaced with a sirloin but it was also tough. Staff dealt with our situation well and experience was reflected in the bill.

I have has several good experiences at this restaurant so decided to invite my partners youngest son (who is an eating machine) and he struggled - the portions were massive. It's been about the 4th time I have been to this restaurant and have never ever been dissapointed.

This was mine & my husband's first time visiting this restaurant,after I had been looking for something different from the norm. We had the sharing starter for two,it was lovely,it should also be on the main meal options as we went from that straight to pud! Will definitely be returning to sample the main dishes.

Was a very good evening, food was great as usual. Only down side is the milk tart was not up to usual standard and seemed to have gelatine in it, which it is not normally like that. Was still good meal though.

Food excellent 10 out of 10. Only objective tables very close together, ruins an otherwise very enjoyable meal to be so close to next table unavoidably overhear conversations.

Great steaks. If you like South African food it's wonderful. If you've never tried South African food then you need to. Lion portion Rib eye steaks are massive so make sure you're hungry.

Service wasn't very attentive but food was good. We had to wait almost half an hour to catch the attention of a waitress to get the bill.

Awesome best steak ever, cooked rare to perfection. If you can manage dessert, it's was so tasty. Service was also really good. This was my second time and I'll definitely be back again.

Staff were brilliant, very helpful and the food was excellent. The lion sized steak did not disappoint! Will definitely be back to try some of the other dishes on offer.

Delicious steaks, good music and a nice atmosphere. A bit more expensive but you would expect that for a good steak. A good treat! Nice bottle of reasonably priced wine too

Super friendly staff! Great authentic South African cuisine, and you certainly will not go hungry as portions are sizeable. Will definitely be back at Shebeen soon!

Our third visit. I was very happy with the ribs and fillet but my husband ordered the prawns to start and they were very gritty. The rest of the meal was lovely as ever and we enjoyed the rest of my fillet later having been offered a doggie bag!

Steak was lovely, staff really nice and friendly. Could have done with more chips and less salad in my opinion. Great night though. Will definitely be back again.

Get off your horse, get on your phone and book yourself and everyone you know a table for dinner at Shebeens. OMG!! Who knew????????? It was brilliant in every aspect, service, food and ambiance. I had the lamb bunny chow (curry) which was served in a loaf of bread with a side salad of onion tomato and......(wait for it) BANANA!!! Culinary revolution there let me tell you!! Other half had the biggest bbq chicken wings I've ever seen and the Malva pudding.....aw man, you've not lived till you have it. Take my advice and go....NOW!!!!

Our third visit so far, with another reservation made. Excellent food in a warm and welcoming environment. Must also mention the staff who are always great. The only downside for me is the toilets being down a flight of stairs which is difficult as I use a walking stick, but the steaks are worth it!

Fantastic food, and brilliant staff. Totally enjoyable experience. The price was reasonable, and the taste of South Africa was well respresented. I highly recommend this place!

Amazing food and great service, really friendly atmosphere and good location. Good value for money. I definitely recommend it. Near the Haymarket train station, so accessible even if you are not staying in Edinburgh.

Really good steaks! We had great meal at Shebeen and enjoyed our mixed meat starter and wonderful fillet steaks. Service was great too. We'll be back.

Great food and service. However it was a bit too much noise but there were a couple of big groups eating and talking loudly and I am sure this is not normal.

Nice restaurant with good food. Portions may be slightly too large but good value for money. We worth a visit to each of the restaurants. Book in advance is useful.

Brilliant service, fantastic food and a really lovely atmosphere. We loved coming here for my partner's birthday and we were well and truly spoilt the whole night. Will definitely be back.

not as good as I expected for the price, steak was quite fatty (it was a sirloin) however it was very well seasoned and the portion size was huge. If you want better value then go to Los Argentinos on West Preston Street. They also shoved us in the corner so I had a view through to the kitchen when nearly every other table in the restaurant was available the whole time we were there.

Brilliant restaurant food was amazing and lovely staff. Location perfect fit town and great choice of wines and liqueurs We will returning soon. It was a pleasure.

Great service, exceptional steaks. Sone of the steaks are huge! All in all this is a bit of a find and one we would definitely visit again!

Great food and fantastic service from the moment we arrived we were made to fell very welcome. My wife had a curry type dish and I had a rib eye which was sublime

Good, tasty food in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. Strong emphasis on meats. Table of 4, who all ordered differently, but remarked they all enjoyed. Bear in mind portion sizes - you won't go hungry!

Excellent service, food & wine! What more could you possibly ask for! I'd definitely recommend and will be going back! In my eyes it's a #winner
