Shebeen - Morrison St

Took my son for a birthday lunch - he said it was "beast" which is very high regard from a twenty year old! We both really enjoyed it - not for those with a bird like appetite - big food and big flavours!

Great food and service. A good time had by all. Big portions! Ribs are excellent, as was the bunny chow. Steaks went down well too. Will definitely return to try some other dishes. 😊

Fantastic meal. The two friends my boyfriend and I visited with have raved about Shebeen for ages and it totally lived up to their hype. The staff were lovely too.

My girlfriend and I had a great night at Shebeen. The staff were very attentive and helpful with menu queries. Service was efficient and unobtrusive. Our steaks were delicious and perfectly cooked to our tastes. The accompaniments were also good especially the garlic mushroom! Their South African Malbec was a good choice to wash it all down. We can also recommend the Milk Tart for dessert! A good experience all round and we'd definitely go back.

I loved everything about the place. The Staff were great, such happy people! The food was absolutely perfect! All round really happy about the experience and atmosphere. Well recommended and we will go again without a second thought.

The food is always amazing! I've tried steaks many times and they're fabulous. The best place to eat steaks. It's not cheap but it worth it.

Excellent food but portions too large therefore unable to finish and a waste of food. My companion's ribs were drier and tougher than previous visit.

Excellent food, portions are huge so be aware if ordering a starter and main course Service was excellent Steaks are a bit pricey but well worth it for the size

Amazing food, friendly waitress and cool decor. The only change I would make is the music- maybe something less pop like and more relaxing. The food is the best I've had in Edinburgh though. We will definitely be back!

Great South African themed food at very competitive prices. Show up with an empty stomach as the portions are massive. I could only handle one portion!

This was our first visit to Shebeen (Dalry Road). The table was ready and the staff very friendly and welcoming. A carnivore's delight and cooked just how we requested. Really tasty food and great service. However, as the portion sizes are so generous, our only criticism is that we would have preferred a longer gap between courses, in order to digest. However, our server did respond positively when we asked for a break before selecting our desserts. Will definitely return. Thoroughly enjoyable.

The food was nice and plentiful but I felt there was no point having a large meal if you did not have time to eat it. Felt rushed. You only have the table for2 hours.

Awesome place and really friendly staff. Would definitely go back. Went on Sunday evening which was super chilled, which we enjoyed. Quick service and with fantastic food. It didn't disappoint!

2nd time at Shebeen and still not dissapointed. Tried to go round 2 with the Sowetto Mess Burger however the burger won, such is the duze of the thing. As allways great food, great hosts and reasonably priced.

Excellent food , service and atmosphere. Not a place for vegetarians as they'd be horrified by all the meat. Steaks, ribs and a 'bucket of meat' starter were perfectly done.

Lovely food and service as always. Only thing I would change are the lighting and music. Is bit lacking in ambience and the music is a bit Christian rock! Still worthy of a regular visit though.

A usual great food and friendly service. Cannot recommend it highly enough. Chicken wings and burger both very good. Special cheese cake for my son was excellent.

Another brilliant meal. Sirloin steaks with monkey gland sauce is simply delicious. The staff are also excellent and make sure you enjoy your visit. Definitely recommend

My 3rd visit to the restaurant and again it was bang on. Burger and a mixed grill were excellent. We had starters but the mains are so plentiful probably could have done without a starter. Will definitely return when I need another meat feast.

If you like great meat then look no further. Every dish on the menu looked great. Brilliant service also and very reasonable priced. Try it

Food was fantastic as always and great value for money. Only thing that let it down this time was some of the staff. You'd think it would kill to crack a smile and be welcoming, so I felt a little awkward and uncomfortable at first. It's not happened before so I wouldn't let it affect my score, hopefully it was a one-off! Otherwise, it was great and I will continue to go back and recommend friends. Definitely go if you can!

Great, genuine South African food. Big portions and fairly priced. Great selection of south african beers, ciders, liquers and soft drinks. Would highly recommend. Go hungry!

Great service, but more importantly fantastic food. I suggest you don't for 24 hrs before going there, portions are huge. Good value for money, will definitely book again.

Friendly, attentive staff. Mariana even remembered our last visit in February - even where we were seated! I am not in the habit of posting my food on Social media but my steak was magnificent and well worth broadcasting. We all enjoyed the experience both culinary and service, from entering until leaving in our Taxi - ordered by SHEBEEN.

I have been quite a few times to Shebeen and have never been disappointed!
