The restaurant was very friendly and the waitress was very helpful. The meal we had was excellent and were never rushed. Prices were comparable with other restaurants in the area. Would definitely recommend this to our friends.

Food was excellent but the service was very intrusive we were asked on at least twenty occasions if the food was all right or if we needed more drinks.Consequently we would not return even though the food was authentic and very tasty

Enjoyed the meal and staff were very attentive. Were overcharged for wine which staff did put right. However the total bill was still on the high side for what we had compared to other Indian restaurants.

Food was great and service swift but the atmosphere left a lot to be desired. 80s disco mix played at high volume didn't aid digestion and it is a fairly stark place with sticky floors. If I'd known they were going to play YMCA very loudly I certainly wouldn't have come.

We had a great night unfortunately we were late for our booking but the staff couldn't be more helpful and we didn't have to wait long for a table even though the restaurant was full. The food was delicious and the staff and service excellent.

Great service,the pickle tray was fantastic,lots of choice and the poppadums' where nice and fresh and crispy.prawn khari was fantastic and vegetable biriani was well spiced.

Booked online and all was ok but when arrived it was over booked but staff were very friendly and helpful and took number if seats became available they would inform me!

Meal was very nice. Service also very good we arrived early but were not kept waiting long for our table. All in all a very good night was had by all our group

Friendly staff. Beautiful food. Straight across road from Edinburgh Playhouse. Very reasonable prices. Go every time we go to Edinburgh. Little bit chilly if you go early but that's the only downfall.

Food was fantastic, but service a bit random with 3 or 4 staff all trying to take our order and consistently asking if we wanted more drinks- overly attentive at best!

What is there to complain about? Lovely food, attentive and friendly staff in pleasant surroundings. If you require parking that may prove an issue later in the evening but well worth a visit

Pre-theatre meal served promptly - a reasonable choice, dominated by chicken dishes. Service was attentive and all members of staff were smiling and pleasant. The food itself was tasty and well-presented.

Food tasty; long wait for main course. Bit stingy on the paneer for £8.50. Good service and well handled complaint. Toilets need a good clean and better management - ran out of loo paper!

Very good service, very good food. We were a few minutes late, and they still had a table ready for us when we arrived. Both my partner and I enjoyed a fantastic meal!

Meal was excellent staff perhaps need a little bit more training 4 times we where asked if wanted a drink had already given order in and table wasnt ready at 5.30 but apart from that overall very good

We were there early on Hogmanay and it was very good - the curries were delicious and the staff were very helpful. This is one of the best places in Edinburgh for a curry at any time.

Chose from the pre- theatre menu and the food was excellent. Staff were attentive and courteous. Food was not rushed but served at a good pace. £45 for 2 course meal for 2 with side dishes. Would return

Meal excellent and great value for money. Some of the staff may have been more welcoming though. I would go back as meal was lovely.

The Popadoms were exceptional-best we have ever tasted. Food excellent although there was a mix up with our biryani order but was quickly rectified. Saturday is very busy so next time we will choose a quieter day.

Decent food, poor service. It took ages to seat us though we had booked. Then the mains also took ages to arrive - the whole experience was a bit shambolic .

Food was absolutely beautiful, staff a little over keen to take order, had 5 different waiting staff in the space of around 5 mins as they didn't seem to have a system in place but this certainly wouldn't stop me going back as they were all very friendly and polite. Would definitely return

I have not been to this restaurant for a few years so too see it looking all modernized was a surprise, plenty staff all smiling good food and busy which is always a good sign enjoyed my night

Great fresh food with lots of flavour. I had the pre-theatre menu and was expecting smaller portions but was served ample portions. The service was great.

Great food & atmosphere, also there was plenty of staff on hand which is unusual in restaurants nowadays. Staff & service was excellent, will be back soon.

First visit and had a great experience, great food and great staff, recommend cloth serviettes as paper is not good for such a nice place.

Our experience was chaotic. I had called to change the reservation time by 30 minutes. Although I got confirmation by phone, when we arrived they had no clue. We had to wait for a table. Multiple servers were responsible for us, causing confusion. None were particularly friendly. We waited 45 minutes between our appetizer and main course. We requested drink refills three times before a server finally arrived with incorrect drinks. He seemed annoyed with us. At this point we just wanted to pay and leave, as our experience was sub-par and the music inhibited any possible conversation. No dessert for us - no thank you! Please just release us from this torture. The food was average.

well situated for pre theatre meal if going to the Playhouse although we had to ask for the pre theatre menu as it wasn't automatically given to us on arrival. Good value menu - beware of HUGE naan breads. Can't fault the meal or the quick service. Every member of staff was excellent.

Nice and airy restaurant with a good atmosphere. Food was very nice and staff extremely attentive and friendly. Price wasn't too bad for a city restaurant so overall I would recommend to anyone.

Excellent food and range of dishes. We couldn't help trying everyone's at the table! Staff also friendly and attentive. A fantastic pre show treat. Also, given we had starters, mains and drinks the bill was a pleasant surprise! Would certainly go again.

Ein ziemlich lautes Lokal. Auf den ersten Gang mussten wir leider vierzig Minuten warten. Der Service war sehr freundlich. Wegen der Wartezeit wurde, ohne dass wir uns beschwert haben, eine Reduktion bei der Rechnung gemacht. Das Essen war wirklich ausgezeichnet. Deshalb eine 5.

Very nice food, manager is very pro active, only issues we had are small, none of our glasses matched, our drinks order was not correct but acted on quickly, our wine served in a ice bucket which had ice at the bottom but the bottle sticks out the top (add water and ice so the bottle settles in the Base of the ice bucket) no offer to taste wine either and no hot towel to finish the meal? All the staff are pleasant but this is a very popular place and good food at reasonable prices, just needs a bit of style

The staff were extremely friendly, welcomed at the door and attentive throughout the entire meal. Food was fantastic, amazing flavours, good portions and all at an excellent price.

We arrived wirh reservation at 5.30pm. Although the restaurant was busy we were served almost immeduately. Food was amazing an all staff pleasant and polite. Great value for money.

Amazing food! Packed with so much flavour, felt like I was in India! Good friendly service, very efficient and quick to take orders. Did not need to wait long periods of time between courses. The only negative would be that there was only ice cream for dessert. Top notch!
