Shezan

Food all tasty. Felt there was a lack of communication between the staff as we were asked the same question by different staff members several times during our short stay. Didn't feel they were very friendly either. Felt a bit rushed too.

We enjoyed great food and good attentive service, even though the restaurant was very busy that evening. It's been many years since I ate here but would definitely come back and would recommend.

Was asked three times after being seated what was our order when were we going to order without being given menus, the waiter suggested we take a side dish which never came, nearly three hours for a two course meal, bad experience only the food saved this review from being lower.

Food is simply superb! However - on a not too busy evening - the service was a wee bit slow. Still our favourite Indian restaurant!

We had a pleasant evening at Shezan, we booked before going to see a show at the Playhouse. The food itself was amazing and excellent value for money. However it was extremely busy (given the fact a show was on). The door was open for large periods of time while people queued and this made the restaurant very cold. It was also extremely noisy. We don't mind waiting to get our food as we know it's being cooked! However the table next to us waiting an extremely long time.

Great food and friendly service. Chicken Tikka was beautiful. We've been going to the Shezan for quite a few years now and we've never had a bad meal

This was one of the best Indian meals we have ever had, I have eaten curry, from Plymouth to Fort William over 30 years, very flavoursome' yet subtle.

We enjoyed our meal a great welcome good selection on their menu.Also prices very good also the wine list had a good selection.Glad we booked as people were been told they wood have to wait up to an hour wood go back.

Appalling service, extremely rude waiter, errors with our order, waited 1 hour 20 minutes for our food. Won't return, which is such a shame as the food is nice but with such awful service and an appalling attitude from the waiter it doesn't matter how good the food is when we left feeling angry at the way we have been spoken to and no apology.

Enjoyed the meal and staff were very attentive. Were overcharged for wine which staff did put right. However the total bill was still on the high side for what we had compared to other Indian restaurants.

Food was great and service swift but the atmosphere left a lot to be desired. 80s disco mix played at high volume didn't aid digestion and it is a fairly stark place with sticky floors. If I'd known they were going to play YMCA very loudly I certainly wouldn't have come.

The restaurant was very friendly and the waitress was very helpful. The meal we had was excellent and were never rushed. Prices were comparable with other restaurants in the area. Would definitely recommend this to our friends.

Food was excellent but the service was very intrusive we were asked on at least twenty occasions if the food was all right or if we needed more drinks.Consequently we would not return even though the food was authentic and very tasty

Loved it. Superb food, starter, main and pudding. The service was great, staff very very attentive, but we didnt feel rushed. They were also very friendly which made a loveky atmosphere. Best indian ive tasted in a long time. Will defo be back x

Great service,the pickle tray was fantastic,lots of choice and the poppadums' where nice and fresh and crispy.prawn khari was fantastic and vegetable biriani was well spiced.

We had a great night unfortunately we were late for our booking but the staff couldn't be more helpful and we didn't have to wait long for a table even though the restaurant was full. The food was delicious and the staff and service excellent.

Booked online and all was ok but when arrived it was over booked but staff were very friendly and helpful and took number if seats became available they would inform me!

Friendly staff. Beautiful food. Straight across road from Edinburgh Playhouse. Very reasonable prices. Go every time we go to Edinburgh. Little bit chilly if you go early but that's the only downfall.

What is there to complain about? Lovely food, attentive and friendly staff in pleasant surroundings. If you require parking that may prove an issue later in the evening but well worth a visit

Food was fantastic, but service a bit random with 3 or 4 staff all trying to take our order and consistently asking if we wanted more drinks- overly attentive at best!

Pre-theatre meal served promptly - a reasonable choice, dominated by chicken dishes. Service was attentive and all members of staff were smiling and pleasant. The food itself was tasty and well-presented.

Food tasty; long wait for main course. Bit stingy on the paneer for £8.50. Good service and well handled complaint. Toilets need a good clean and better management - ran out of loo paper!

Very good service, very good food. We were a few minutes late, and they still had a table ready for us when we arrived. Both my partner and I enjoyed a fantastic meal!

Meal was excellent staff perhaps need a little bit more training 4 times we where asked if wanted a drink had already given order in and table wasnt ready at 5.30 but apart from that overall very good

We were there early on Hogmanay and it was very good - the curries were delicious and the staff were very helpful. This is one of the best places in Edinburgh for a curry at any time.

Meal excellent and great value for money. Some of the staff may have been more welcoming though. I would go back as meal was lovely.

Really good curry, great service and quite reasonable. Nice drinks menu too. Best lamb I've had out in Edinburgh and will definitely be back :)

Chose from the pre- theatre menu and the food was excellent. Staff were attentive and courteous. Food was not rushed but served at a good pace. £45 for 2 course meal for 2 with side dishes. Would return

First visit to thensure Shenanigans - staff were very friendly and made us feel really welcome / food was delicious / first class service. Looking forward to a return visit.

Food was absolutely beautiful, staff a little over keen to take order, had 5 different waiting staff in the space of around 5 mins as they didn't seem to have a system in place but this certainly wouldn't stop me going back as they were all very friendly and polite. Would definitely return

Lovely food - very good service and a good choice of wines and beers the garlic nan bread was fresh, crisp and yummy. i totally recommend it
