Given the current climate surrounding COVID-19, many authorities are placing restrictions on social gatherings. In the best interest of everyone’s safety, we are continuously updating the availability of our partner restaurants to reflect these measures. Guildford is a long way from Bangkok, but thanks to Mrs Wannut, her husband and their extended family, they’re taking the tastes of Thailand and bringing them to the town centre. She was born some 40 minutes from the Thai capital and her upbringing informs the menu at Sir & Madam: the cuisine of the Bangkok region is front and centre, meaning curries and fresh seafood, and somewhat less spicy than the reputation of Thailand might suggest. When you arrive at Sir & Madam on Jeffries Passage, close to Guildford Castle, you’re going to have to bring your biggest appetite with you. Start off with a mixed platter split between two – sesame prawn toast, spring rolls, satay chicken breast skewers and roast spare ribs – and then choose your curry (red, green or yellow, plus Panang or Massaman); a stir-fry of pork, chicken, beef, prawn or fish or a vegetarian-friendly option. Sir & Madam offer some of the best Thai food in Guildford, and can get busy: book a table early to avoid disappointment.
Turned up for a nice meal to find the restaurant had closed down !!! Not even a message relating to this on the answer phone. Best remove from your website.
Fabulous authentic food with generous portion sizes at an acceptable price. The staff are efficient and charming. Overall this is the best Thai dining experience I have had in many years.
Great service, great food, great value. Good choice of different set menus and the wine is not over-priced. We had a set menu, 2 beers and a bottle of wine for just over sixty quid. Always wanted to go and now we have we will be back!
