Friendly staff, good service, very tasty food. Only reason it didn’t get full marks was the paella was the worst I’ve ever had. Rest of food was delicious

Excellent food, well presented and very fresh. Thoroughly enjoyed each tapas dish we had and the creme brûlée was delicious. The atmosphere was also lovely, wonderful lighting and very relaxing. Will definitely be back!

Great beer,service and food.The girl who looked after us was brilliant.I enjoyed trying different sorts of tapas in a lovely relaxed atmosphere.Cant wait to go back!!

The food and service were excellent. We particularly enjoyed the red mullet and prawn tempura along with the paella but all the dishes we selected were very tasty.

First time at South 16 and loved it, the chef enjoyed the challenge of making the meatballs hotter than what comes on the menu and my h8sband loved them, everyone very friendly, wonderful quirky place, right up our street

Very quirky and quaint! Went there to celebrate my daughters graduation and was not disappointed. Food was freshly cooked to order, staff were extremely friendly and helpful with menu choices... we had a really lovely time would definitely go back again!! The whole atmosphere of South 16 was really nice

Probably the best food in town right now. A great tasty choice of tapas and they dont skimp on the portion sizes. Some very different flavours we never tried before and we were not disappointed.Good beer and wine and a great taste in back ground music along with the friendly staff make for a great relaxed experience. Already looking forward to going back and trying some more.

If visiting Buxton and you like tapas South 16 is a must . Food , friendly staff and service were all fantastic ! Highly recommended!

Staff were lovely. Restaurant vibe is great. Food so so - kinda good... but not quite amazing. Overall nice experience but not gourmet. I would visit again but select dishes carefully

A wonderful meal in a lovely vibrant little restaurant. We had six tapas, I'd rate four of them as excellent with the remainder as very good.

Randomly chose it on Google as we were going to a gig in Buxton. Really pleased with choice as it was a great place and atmosphere, with helpful and friendly staff, lovely food. Will be back.

Great range and choice of tasty food and selections for all diets although you may want to stagger the food out to the table otherwise everything arrives together. Also beware the kitchen suddenly closes and so no possibility for desserts later in the evening even though we said we would want to order some! Nice selection of wines.

Lovely food and great service! Ordered 6 tapas dishes between two of us this was more than enough and we were full afterwards. Would highly recommend it,

Our favourite Buxton eatery. Good to know we can book on line. 'Pig in pig' is a thing of beauty. With cold vinho verdi & salad, best meal in town.

South 16 is hidden away but when you have found it, you will keep going back . Interesting menu full of interesting tastes. Order a few Tapas and then a few more. Good beer and good wine. The decor is original and the service above and beyond good. I hope it maintains these standards and deserves to succeed in a competitive market (town).

Great vibe and really chilled. Food and service was great. Very comfortable with plenty of places sit with or without a dog. Will go again as soon as we can.

Very relaxed atmosphere, a range of well prepared, delicious and interesting little dishes. The staff where welcoming and friendly. We particularly liked the red mullet in tempura batter and an other dish of crab meat and crushed avocado. Well worth a visit.

Had a great evening at South 16. Everyone there was lovely. Food amazing, made us feel very welcome and a brilliant place for a party. Great surroundings and great atmosphere thanks to the people there. Would totally recommend.

Excellent evening. The food was delicious and cooked perfectly. The staff attentive and very pleasant. The variety of food was very good indeed and we wouldn’t hesitate to go back again.

Enjoyable meal good food varied menu salsa night Thursday so entertertainment aswell .Good selection of wines and beers something for everyone.We will be back again.

Food improved from last visit. Carvery was very good value and potato braves and mushrooms that accompanied it were excellent. Also good quality beer on tap.

Good food- some excellent e.g. Squid and Meatballs; others okay e.g. Mole poblano, croquettes, fish paella; good prompt services and very good Shiraz good wine.

We had a great meal here we ordered off the tapas menu and had the suckling pig carvery which was delicious. Lovely relaxed atmosphere and Friendly staff. Will definitely return 😃

Excellent quality food and good service. Reasonably priced wines too. Overall, I would definitely recommend South !6 as a venue for dinner, its the best place in Buxton to eat

Being told we could not order desserts as 'the kitchen was now closed' just after eating our main course is absolutely ridiculous. Especially as we had only been in there one hour and it was only 3.00 p.m. They obviously didn't want the custom

Very relaxed atmosphere. Turned up on Salsa night (Thursday) so it was very lively and was able to watch people dancing whilst we ate. Had everything off Tapas menu, lovely freshly prepared food. Thank you!

The staff very friendly,and helpful ,the food was amazing ,good choice of mashed potatoes ,even my husband found one he liked ,will definitely go again ,

Food quality is normally very high for the town and the rom has a good vibe. We have visited twice in the last week and when in town normally go once a week. The only criticism at present is that the portions seem to be getting smaller, not so much the meat or fish component but rather the vegetables - the meals would certainly benefit from more attention to this.
