Spice Route - Indian Cuisine is a sublime little restaurant based in Portsmouth’s Southsea, nestled on Palmerston Road within walking distance of Southsea Seafront and Southsea shopping precinct. Spice Route brings you authentic dishes from Bangladesh and the Indian subcontinent, courtesy of a chef with over 10 years experience creating new and innovative dishes. Choose something from the tandoor, some seafood, or some Spice Route specials. The kala bhuna is a popular beef curry, while the chicken jhal tikka is as fiery as they come. Of course there are all the classics to consider, too, as well as a selection of curious vegetarian dishes that go far beyond the norm. Spice Route Indian Cuisine has an unlicensed bar, however, but with a BYO policy diners are welcome to bring their own beer or wine. And there’s no corkage fee!
Five great curries, friendly service and relaxed atmosphere. Our favourite BYO Indian restaurant in Southsea. Highly recommended, so give it a try- you won’t be disappointed.
Excellent service and very tasty curries. The Chicken chilli masala was very spicy and flavoursome. Highly recommended.
Group of 7 attend, all had never been here before and everyone thought the service and the quality of the food was fantastic. Highly recommended!
Great food with great service! All staff were very welcoming and easy to talk to, reasonable price for all the food we got! Definitely recommend
Had a great evening last Friday (20/10/17) at the Spice Route. We were visiting the area for the Great South Run and were relying on previous positive reviews to choose our dining venues. Excellent meal and service from Robin and Sorowar who we were informed was serving there for the first time!!!! Well done gents on an excellent dining out experience!!!! Mark & Kate from Rugby.
We had great evening there. Food was delicious, service was excellent and we will definately visit again. There is the added bonus that you can take your own wine/beers which they were happy to keep chilled for us. I would highly recommend Spice Route.
Lovely food and friendly staff, very fresh and tasty! Although bit pricey especially for students. Food came out quickly and portion sizes were quite big! One thing that stood at was the variety of dishes on the menu in comparison to other Indian's in the area!
Excellent food enjoyed by the whole party. Brining your own drinks is made easy and makes the evening great value for money. Service was very good, although food took slightly too long to arrive. Overall we would return and I would highly recommend.
Currently the best Indain Resturant in our opinion. Food is authentic Indian, expertly cooked, and the flavours are just great. Highly recommended and do feel free to try out their specials which are fantastic
Really good service and good quality curries. We had 4 dishes and all were well flavoured, spiced and sufficiently proportioned. They also Turned around a quick additional naan bread for us. Recommended
