Delicious food, as good as a home cooked Sunday lunch.
Excellent food. Our whole party of six said it was the best Sunday lunch we've had in a long time. Great service, professional & friendly staff.
Food was hot and fresh with a good variety of dishes. The Tagliatelle special was excellent.
Extremely good experience with the lady looking after us very nice and helpful. Being 1 minutes walk from the pub I'll be going there a lot.
Had Sunday lunch but would have liked the offer of a smaller plate. Stamford Arms are always obliging and the Chef will if possible make whatever you request if not on the menu that day.
For our 2nd recent visit we enjoyed the steak pie and fish and chips mains. Both were excellent and arrived in a timely fashion. We took advantage of the £1 puddings on a Monday evening. The chocolate sundaes however were not great with no noticeable ice cream, just lots of cream, brownie and sauce. This was pointed out twice afterwards to the waitress to pass onto the chef/management with no feedback received. they were ok for £1 but not worth the usual full price.
Six of us went out as a birthday treat. Booked online and was delighted when arriving to find balloons on the table with a cup of sweets. Lovely touch. we all had 3 course. Every time we ordered they missed off something, someone’s drink, meal we got to the stage where we said who will miss out next:) but the staff were fab and it didn’t bother us at all. Will definitely go back.. loved it ! great place great food, great staff
Food was lovely and the atmosphere was lively. We did ask for a couple of things which the waitress said wouldn't be a problem, but the kitchen refused to accommodate us which was a shame. Also, we were asked to vacate our table as soon as we finished our meal as they had people waiting. With the bar being crammed it meant we had to leave and drew our 'catch up' with distant relatives to a premature close, which was upsetting and spoilt the evening.
Booked a meal for fathers day at 5pm only had soup left from the starters so we didnt have one. We had lamb roast was tasty but cold. Childrens meal of chicken goujons was hot. Staff were nice though and kept aplogising as they were really busy. Also had a long wait for dessert. We have eaten many times before and havent had a bad meal so i feel this time was purely because theu had taken too many bookings.
Excellent service and top quality food with more than enough on the plate.. First Sunday lunch at the Stamford Arms and certainly not the last.
