A longer than expected wait for the order to be delivered (40 mins) Dogs at a nearby table were noisy and a nuisance. I suggest NIO dogs allowed apart from guide dogs, for hygiene reasons as well as for customer co/ns.ideration.

Im afraid we were terribly disappointed and will never visit again. Firstly there was an articulated lorry virtually blocking the car park entrance - I reported it to the man at the bar but it was still there when we left. My sister and I both chose the Gammon Steak - I asked if I could have the eggs poached - chef said no. It's not like the restaurant was busy - it was empty - on the Thursday before Christmas (which tells you everything you need to know really) - all the other places I tried to book were full. The female member of staff was scruffy and surly. The brown carpeted area in the dining room smells and needs a good clean. The Gammon steak was awful and at £17.95 was poor value for money - the Gammon was so thick you could hardly chew it and the chips didn't look like they'd been cooked 3 times maybe 20 times. If you don't like piccalilli (who does) you get nothing - no garnish, no salad, maybe an onion ring. The plate presented was so unappealing. The menu was awful - I mean who eats faggots? or Rabbit? Apparently the chef created it (you know - the person who won't poach eggs) The young man behind the bar was the only highlight. Polite and friendly.

I reserved a table today as it was my wifes birthday, Unfortunately we both found the beef pretty stringy/fatty resulting in my wife leaving half of her beef as it was just fat. I ended up going without dessert, I was unable to order the vegan affogato on the menu as you didn't have any vegan vanilla ice cream in stock. However the food and drinks were tasty!

Avoid at all costs Staff were friendly, food “ok” (not great) Our evening was ruined by the back door of pub being left open to allow customers at a function in the external marquee have access to the toilets My wife & I had to get up x5 to close the door because of an extremely cold breeze (it was 3 degrees outside) The guests outside said the pub staff had told them to leave the door open ! The barman had seated us in a corner of the dining room, rather than the bar where it was much warmer - nobody else was eating in the dining room We tried to complain about the cold & he said he’d thought our table in the corner might have been ok (so he knew the cold was a possible problem!) No gesture of goodwill was offered at any point.

Would have liked to have chosen my own table rather than the one allocated. Lucky with the time chosen as it became extremely busy towards the end of the meal. Friendly staff , food very good albeit a little pricey. Overall I would recommend the Swan to friends & family.

Very good service, food was good the only thing that was a bit disappointing was the loin of Haddock advertised with roast potatoes and seasonal veg. The fish was cooked nicely but the potatoes were the size of peas and about 2 spoons of seasonal veg which was hidden under the fish. Think the battered fish and chips would have been a better choice as the meal was not at all filling.

Food was good wine was expensive but all pubs seem to charge a lot for wine these days bottleof wine costing about £7 shouldn't be over £26. Also a 10 per cent service charge was put on bill then I was told I could take it off if I wished. I do not like this practise so we will not be visiting this pub again.

First visit to the Swan but it won't be the last. It was great to see more original items on the menu instead of just the pub classics, although these were available as well. The Steak Pie, according to my husband, was the best pie he has ever eaten, and he always chooses pies when we go out. I had the faggots and mash, which you do not often see on a menu these days. Again, they were great, the presentation was excellent, the chef obviously took some pride in the presentation, and the front of house team were lovely. A 10% tip was automatically added on to the bill and we were given an option to either remove or amend it but we had had a great experience and were very happy to leave the 10% tip on the bill. We will definitely be back in a few weeks time.

Was unable to have gluten free fish and chips as no GF batter. A disappointment for me. The three of us were happy with our meals but felt that main meal choices were limited. Didn't have dessert as we had to leave room for birthday cake. Staff were very nice.

Staff were lovely and the service was good. I was disappointed that they weren’t serving the fish board. There wasn’t much fish on the menu so I ended up with fish & chips, which I didn’t really want.

The pub was empty and after we ate we realised why. The food was bland and two of us were ill following the meal. The whole places needs a good clean.
