Very welcoming staff, helpful and were very good with the kids. We weren't rushed so had time to eat and relax. Food was great too. Giant kids portions!!!

Good food, nice place, excellent staff. As gastro pubs goes in this neck of the woods it's worth travelling to. Close to the tube and bus routes. Try it next sunday

Great evening at the Avalon. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable about allergens. Dog friendly pub, with dog bowls and treats provided. And they accept Tastecard!

We have discovered the Avalon pub a couple of weeks ago. We would always pass by on the bus but we have never stopped there before! What a nice surprise! Super nice food (especially tasty pizzas) and the back garden...a gem! We love it now!

Lovely Sunday roast - we had chicken, and it was one of the nicest pieces of chicken I have ever had! It was also Father's Day and they gave my dad a free pint on the house! The service was brilliant, out waiter couldn't have been friendlier. Would highly recommend.

I had family visiting and they had been here before. My sister was gagging for a steak, so where else would you go to? They have the best steaks in south London. We were on a timeframe and I told the waiter we needed to leave before a certain time to ensure we had food before we had to leave. The dinner was good, service good and the waiter even came and told us the time when I said we need to leave - excellent service. The only downside to the place is... the Mens stinky toilets :-( By the way, they have a fabulous garden at the back :-)

Nice food but was slightly disappointed with service. When we arrived they said it was policy not to allow use of a taste card in the garden area which was a pity as there was no atmosphere inside as everyone was in the garden. The food wasn't as nice as usual which was a shame as we go here regularly and usually love it.

We experienced very good service, good food and a very pleasant outdoor garden area. We enjoyed our visit and would recommend this restaurant to others.

Staff were very attentive, great house red, excellent scoliosis and a wide beer selection. One of my favourite pubs in south London, can't recommend highly enough

Nice pub with great outdoor area in the rear for a sunny day. We lucked the trivia quiz. Ugly and host was fun as was the night.

We had the metre long pizza it was delicious! Staff were lovely and the secret garden was so nice on a sunny day. Definitely recommend this place.

A lovely restaurant that is upstaged by the noise generated by the pub bar which is adjacent to the restaurant. Having requested a table in the corner as we had a member of our table who was deaf. My request (made the week before) was not met. The food is good quality and the service is friendly and swift.

The Roast Beef and Yorkshire pudding was OK but my dining partner said the Nut Roast was covered in a sauce that didn't really go with the vegetables and the meal was served tepid. A shame as this venue is usually excellent. Maybe too many bookings for Easter Sunday that stretched the resources too far.

We always enjoy the Avalon. The ambiance is great, the food and wine is delish, good service, dogs allowed. The garden in summer is absolutely amazing.

Had a really good roast dinner. Very busy so booking is definitely needed. Reasonable prices also as most places in London are over £17/ £18

Good atmosphere, great wine and very good food overall. The pizza was a bit dry and needed more tomato sauce. Service was good and quick.

Poor customer service - not busy but so slow at taking order, delay in actually in-putting order, delay of about 20 minutes in telling us that the bottle of wine we ordered wasn't actually available (!), slow in delivering food to table, slow at clearing plates away, took several times of asking for dessert menu to actually get them delivered! Bill delivered with incorrect wine on it. Overall, very poor service. However, food was pretty good.

Such a nice pub. Really friendly staff who are very accommodating and really want you to relax and enjoy oneself. Delicious pizzas and a good selection of reasonably priced wines.

Beautiful place, lovely staff, tasty food (belly prk followed by apple n blackberry crumble - comfort food or what?) - and large portions to boot. No wonder this is such a popular local haunt.

I came here to catch up with two friends I don't see nearly often enough. The table service was good, our pasta and sea green was delicious and very relaxed atmosphere. I would really recommend the Avalon dining experience 😊

Great food, as always. The steaks are still the best in London. However, (on a Saturday night) the music was too loud - almost Ibiza in Clapham - for a nice dining experience.

Food was awesome. Service wasn't so hot so took one star away. The decor was beautiful was beautiful and our cocktails were great too. Good time and good food.

Busy Saturday post rugby, but managed to book a table last minute with friendly staff and good service and great food. Will be coming back again

Nice atmosphere and surroundings, the food was really good and a very large portioned Sunday roast! Pleasant and friendly staff, would definitely go there again.

All in all I would say my experience was good, but not great. There was a large party next to us which meant the service was below par and also two of the choices our table made weren't available and we only found out after ordering, the waiter should have known. Also the time between starter and main was longer than I would have wanted.

Amazing food, service staff were very good. Only issue was I went for dinner at 6pm and they had run out of a few dishes I would have normally gone for, but the dishes I did go for were top notch!

The service was good; attentive but not too much so and my boyfriend turned up 30 mins late but they didn't draw too much attention to it which was appreciated! I had smoked haddock and it was incredibly smokey, I'd say over smoked, but it was still nice. Camembert for starters was good too.

Good food, especially the Sunday Roast. Service was ok, considering how busy it was, great ambient. I would recommend it.

This was not the first time we have visited The Avalon because it consistently serves good quality pub grub with fantastic service. The drinks selection is pretty awesome too, especially the house Malbec.

Food was excellent. Service was slow at the start, it took ages to be served (even just for wine). Too much spillover from the bar, we tried to have a nice quiet romantic dinner but there were rowdy groups of individuals nearby and we had to shout at each other to make conversation. It would have been good if they closed this off a bit from the bar

Lovely waiter who answered all our questions and was very friendly. Great speedy and considerate service e.g. unlimited water refills without asking, always checking that we had all we needed. Delicious food, slightly large portions but all very satisfied with each of our three courses! Lovely decor inside too.

Good food but slow service and had to ask multiple times for certain things. Menus not brought straight away, waiters did not communicate with each other.

Friendly service, although they were a bit busy so service and food was a bit slow. We enjoyed 50% off our meal with a voucher, though to be honest not sure i'd have liked to have paid full price; Steak was cooked well but tasted just ok and fries were cold. nice brownie pudding

Food was very nice. Staff were friendly and relaxed. Huge garden with ample seating on a lovely summer day. Some areas have heating so you can sit out in colder days.

As per usual, great food, great wine and excellent service. Can't fault the Avalon always excellent!
