The food (chorizo pizza) was delicious but our waitress wasn't all that cheerful (she didn't smile at all) which made the visit slightly less enjoyable

We always enjoy the Avalon. Good food, nice atmosphere doggie and child friendly. Got the couch by the fire, was really nice. Burgers are yummy.

Friendly staff, good service even when super busy. Good value for money. Mix of styles at the venue: Sunday lunch, sport on, relaxed restaurant. All in all very nice place

Overall it was okay but with a few niggles. Firstly, when I arrived the barmaid was quite rude and dismissive when I asked where my table was. Our food was tasty but unfortunately I had to send my chips back as they arrived cold, and my friend's dish wasn't piping hot either. However, the waiter was very apologetic and brought replacement chips without me having to wait too long. Also, my other friend had the pizza and it looked and tasted very good. I had to pay at the bar as I couldn't get any of the waiting staff's attention, and once again I encountered the rude barmaid who I think just doesn't have very good English and therefore found it difficult to understand me, but rather than say 'I'm sorry, could you repeat that please?' she just got really irritable. I would be happy to go back again to give the place another try, but will avoid that particular staff member! In terms of service and food quality, some of the Avalon's sister venues are better (e.g. The Bolingbroke and The Stonhouse) and are more of a restaurant experience than a pub, and I think the Avalon's prices should reflect that, but unfortunately most other pubs in the area offers a similarly average experience.

Very nice steak and scotch egg. Would go back again and try this out. The ale is also very good and worth a visit for beer alone.

Very nice pub with a good selection of food and drink and a great atmosphere. Food is decent and not expensive and it’s well located for a walk back if you live Locally.

We were a.party of four and all of us enjoyed the meal. The staff were very professional and helpful. The waiter was very patient with me when i forgot to give him my tab number when I and took ages to find the vouche. The food was good quality and of a very generous size( I could not eat all my brisket). The wine was ok and relatively good value for this part of South London.

The Roast was great, probably the best one in south London, but unfortunately the service wasn't. Definitely worth going though, don't be put off by the service

Only two out of three meals were good, the sea bass and they roast brisket. However the half chicken was drowned in a poor barbeque sauce

The Avalon always has amazing food and great service. Flat breads, pizzas and the baked Camembert are definite favourites. I would 100% recommend the Avalon for a good quality and delish pub feed

I was here with my toddler and dog and the service couldn’t have been better! There was a great kids menu, the dog was welcomed with open arms and given a bowl of water, and the regular menu was really good too. Staff were helpful and friendly and the food arrived quickly and was very tasty. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend!

Great hearty food and pub environment, especially with the Secret garden perfect for social alfresco dinning during the summer, however, during the winter, indoor dinning is painful surrounded by an extremely noisy and very drunk crowd!

Food is below average - lacking in flavour and attention. They can't cook steak - my medium was rare and blue in the middle. Sent it back and they just added my chopped steak back on. The roasts looked very boring and having eaten one before there, tastes pretty boring too. Had the cheese board and one biscuit that was broken into bits - nice to see that's the worth of our custom. Won't be rushing back for food.

Service was amazing and Prosecco was flowing throughout however the rugby was on and they had a screen in the restaurant which felt was unnecessary considering they had it on in the pub too! Couldn't really talk properly as it was so noisy.

Great food and service, sensibly priced. We all enjoyed the experience and will certainly return sometime. A very reasonable price for a bottle of Prosecco.

Yes food was good- lively with nice staff- food arrived in good time. The acoustics make the dinning room very noisy- so the piped music should be turned down or off although

Decent food - good with the kids, though the service deteriorated as the meal went on and the pub got busier. Super fast to start - super slow by the end. Not bad.

Good service. Food was good with the exception of dessert -- dessert was a disaster for all four of us in the group and really detracted from the otherwise decent food (flourless chocolate cake was dry and probably old and the topping on the fruit crumble was so dry it was like eating chalk dust); none of us finished desserts. We were there on a Saturday night and while some might find it a good vibe, diners had to literally push through the mob around the bar to get to the toilets.

This pub is one of several in a chain of London pubs called Three Cheers.( Stonhouse is my favourite ) neither of them They are both ever fail in quality, value for money and service. Even better with the offers and specials.
