We tried two dishes, the Rump Steak Imperial and The Steak and Real Ale Pie one with mash and one with the Bingley's famous chunky chips all cooked to perfection. Great food, great service all round terrific experience.

Food was lovely, staff really friendly and helpful, service was just a bit slow considering the restaurant was only about half full - we booked for 2.15 and didn't leave until almost 5pm. I would still recommend though!

Excellent staff who were all very friendly and welcoming. Very nice food and lots of it. Great atmosphere in the Tap Room, the locals made us feel very welcome and made a fuss of our dog......which he loved.

Setting and atmosphere was great. Food was ok but not outstanding and service was a bit hit and miss with cutlery missing and side orders not quite right but resolved fairly quickly.

If you would like to eat at a table surrounded by noisy foul mouthed drinkers, be served by a rude middle aged waitress who flies into a hissy fit when you inform her of the language you have endured. then addressed by a totally disinterested manager/owner, then this is the place for you. Three tables of diners adjacent to us also complained about the noise and behaviour of the drinkers, the response was a shrug and "what can we do? we've had a word with them........" The food was average and overpriced, we left most of our main courses as we couldn't wait to leave. The evening was further enhanced by one of the drinkers sitting by the exit to the smoking area, smoking in the bar with the door ajar. When I told the waitress, she said that this could not have happened!! if this site would accept a zero rating, that is what I would give. A never to be repeated experience. One final tip, book online, it guarantees you the worst table in the place.

The restaurant may have a valid claim for being the old pub in Britain but the place looked drab and ready for an update on the décor. Booked a table for 13:00 and arrived on time but it was 13.25 before someone took our drinks and food order. Not offered a menu on arrival, we did ask for some menus at about 13:15. Even two Ladies who left the Pub at about 13:20 (who frequently had Sunday lunch at this pub) commented that we had not any food served, in response I said they have not even taken our order yet. We all (3 people) had the same main course, steak and ale pie, which was served hot and in reasonable time after we had ordered. It was sound pub grub but not my idea of Gastropub dinning. We only had the one course and finished off with teas and coffee. When I asked for the bill I had at least another 10 minute wait as the staff were having problems in printing the bill from the electronic till. The pub was clearly doing sound business for a Friday lunchtime and my review is not consistent with what I have read in other review. However, I did a 240 mile round trip to take my 90 year old Mother in Law out for lunchtime treat for Mother’s Day and the experience fell well below expectations.

Disappointed by the experience having had to wait for 50 mins for a simple main course meal of lasagne, fish pie and sausage and mash. Rather expensive too for the food quality.

Disappointed. Didn't realise the Valentines Menu was a set one. The menu should have been displayed on the website. The only choice was the main course, all the other courses were set and not to our liking.

Well what can I say. We had booked a weekend away in our touring caravan for our anyversary, and when booking we looked online at nearby facilities. The Bingley Arms the local pub/resteraunt. I looked online and noted that Bingley Arms was the oldest pub in England which really appealed to us with its traditional character and charm. We booked in for Sunday lunch and was pleasantly surprised at the decor and facilities. The food was amazing along with fantastic service. I would recommend friends and family to eat here and I will be coming back in the near future.

I booked a table on the internet without any problems and from the comfort of my armchair. This was for a walking party and after a pleasant 5 mile walk 10 of us had Sunday lunch. Te service was very good, the choice of venue was very good and the portions were very substantial. The food was very good and hot. I would recommend the Bingley Arms and will bee making a return visit very soon, as will the members of my party.

The 'special' pheasant pie was full of tiny sharp bones. My guest who had ordered it didn't want to complain as everyone else had had an enjoyable meal. I did not want to embarrass her by raising it yesterday. However it was inedible and thus very disappointing. The other 6 six enjoyed their meals: main courses, sweets and coffees. Service was pleasant as was the situation of our table.

Electronic booking system went smoothly. Food was very good with a great selection in accompanying vegetables. Children's meals a little disappointing - pizza had obviously been overcooked as the edges were burnt and there was extra cheese thrown on to disguise this. The chicken goujons portion was quite small - but then not for a younger child! Overall, it was an enjoyable meal, good service and a very pleasant ambiance. We'd definitely recommend and would visit again.

Our food was plentiful, of very high quality and had clearly been freshly cooked which explain why service, while attentive and friendly was just on the edge of being a bit slow. The choice of wine complemented our meal very well and overall we had an extremely pleasant extended lunch, and will definitely be back for more.

The food was fine but the service was very poor. Kept waiting for an hour after ordering with no sign of any apologies or updates. When the bill came we noticed that another tables drinks had been included, adding £15 to our total. Again no apologies. Very disappointing.
