The did not receive the Quandoo booking but luckily it didn’t matter as it wasn’t busy. The food and experience was as good as ever.

Our previous visits have been excellent but the Bull has changed hands. Our meal was a little slow in arriving. Yet it duly did four vegetarian dishes and one chicken all with "onions" rings. These all turned put to be Calamari rings. One of our group has a seafood allergy. On complaint to staff, only 1 meal was replaced. When paying for the meal, no apology was made until we mentioned the mistake and then it didn't seem very sincere. Shame, this was one of our favourite restaurants.

We wondered what it would be like under new management, we found the new bar manager very friendly and helpful, food was just as good.

Went for Sunday lunch. Had booked a table and they were expecting us. Very friendly front of house Jennifer as was Manager Kris who introduced himself. Recently changed hands and as we knew the previous owner well we expected some changes. However we were pleasantly surprised. Food was lovely and piping hot. If they don't 'fix it' we'll go again. Puds were super!

Great food at an okay cost. Limited parking so bare this in mind. Lighting is very bright in there and could do with having the spotlights dialled down!

Service was OK but I think there was a lady training with a guy and they were 'hovering' round us a bit. I had lasagne which again was OK but a bit stodgy. Nice surroundings.

Excellent staff, food and atmosphere. Steak pie and. Lasagne was lovely. Staff were attentive and not too in your face. Offered extras, like jug of gravy for the steak pie.

Had a lovely evening with friends. Service excellent, food good. A little more varied menu would be nice, especially for vegeterians. Parking not very good, had to park on the road quite a distance from the restaurant. No street lighting.

Very nice person behind the bar, friendly waitress, good food and reasonable price. The only thing I didn't like (not their fault) were the pesky flies that were buzzing around the food.

Lovely Sunday lunch. The duck and bread and butter pudding were delicious. Lovely, friendly staff, knew what they were doing and nothing was too much trouble. ( extra custard) . My only negative comment.... the lighting was a little bit too bright! X

The food was excellent, the overall ambience was very good and the waitress service was good as well! The only downfall is the very small car park!

Food tasty, good waiter service. Nice atmosphere. Highly recommend. Parking a little difficult, as small car park. Caters for vegetarians, which is good. Facilities extremely clean and tidy.

We were looked after very well at The Black Bull Escrick. One of our party is gluten free and the waitress double checked ingredients. Everyone’s meals were excellent. Would recommend.

Food and service was fine but suspect more expensive and abbreviated menu for Mothers Day. We were charged and paid for a dessert we didn't have so do check your bill.

Booked online, last minute, whilst on a weekend visit to York based on Trip advisor reviews. We were NOT dissappointed. Friendly staff. The food we ordered arrived promptly and I've never had so much steak in a pie, it was delicious, very tender and tasty. And the chips, lol, best I've had in a very long time. Hope to visit again 😊

Very poor bar service. We stood at the bar and were ignored for at a minute on arrival. After that the food was very mediocre so all in all not a great experience.

Menu full of promise but shame it didn't deliver on the eating. A very burnt burger that was attempted to be disguised just insulted the intelligence and was totally inedible.
