Great food, lovely staff and good atmosphere. Not a traditional pub type place. I more like a restaurant/bar. Will definitely recommend and visit again. Just to have one of those amazing desserts!

Food was amazing as usual. There was a long wait for our food but was out of the hands of the chef we were compensated with free drinks overall definitely will be off again

Very nice pub with great food. Nice selection of real ale. Tons available but not seen. Friendly staff too. Hoping to have a small wedding do here next year.

This is a nice 'Quirky' country pub, good food good atmosphere with helpful and willing staff. I wouldn't say it was the cheapest but what you get for your money is well worth it. Will definitely go again. Top Marks from me!

Our local pub with a lot of competition in surrounding area but we go back time after time as there are welcoming staff who give Fab service, great food and wonderful atmosphere as always.

Fantastic food and nice ambience with attentive staff,the steak pie was full of big chunks and the gammon took over the whole plate,will definitely be returning

Pork slightly overcooked and peppercorn sauce very spicy, but trivial compared to a gorgeous meal, gorgeous surroundings, pleasant/friendly/unobtrusive staff and good, hearty all round meals. Fab wine selection and 2 course meal for 2 with drinks for £40. Incredible value for money. Thank you.

Went here for my Hen do, the food was delicious and the staff amazing. They moved us to a private room which made it more special

Found this little gem totally by accident whilst browsing for somewhere to eat whilst staying in Escrick. The ambience is fantastic. The staff so friendly it's unbelievable but it's totally true. Variety of the menu is very good as is the price. The portions are very generous and the food quality is also exceptional. Overall if I was staying close by again I would definitely eat here and I will definitely recommend that anyone needs to try the Bull

Very pleasant staff. Nice meal. A bit quiet for a Friday night. A slight problem with one of the meals but the offer of a free drink while we waited was very much appreciated. In the end only waited a couple of minutes.

The pub situated in a lovely village is a really nice family place to eat and drink.the staff are brilliant.the food is excellent. Well worth a visit

Good hearty food, came out nice piping hot. The staff had a busy night in general but kept cool and remained attentive. I would have happily paid the same price for half the amount of food, portion size was fairly large. My only grumble is that my chips tasted a little fishy.

Amazing food thank you! Staff lovely. Menu great. We treated Dad for Fathers Day and he loved it. Would recommend it to anyone. First class.

The service was very good and the goats cheese started was excellent. The main course was good with home made Yorkshire Pudding and roast potatoes.

Food was nice ,service was efficient until dessert then waited too long for order to be taken so decided not to bother and asked for bill instead . Bill was promptly delivered followed by waiter to take our order for dessert! !!

Superb food and excellent staff. The menu is good with a reasonable choice. All the courses were excellent and the whole experience a delight. 10/10 We eat out on a regular basis as part f our work and social life. This meal and experience rates very highly on our personal experience of similar eateries in the UK. Worth a visit.

A comfortable and attractive pub with an appealing menu, friendly service and good value for money. A sign at the front door advertising for a full time chef was a little off putting - perhaps they should use social media instead for recruitment....

First visit, excellent, very impressed with the service and the food, a great welcome the Yorkshire puddings were to die for. We will certainly come again

Very light and roomy interior. The staff where most helpful and pleasant. Four of us went and all four enjoyed our meals no faults at all. Will be sure to recommend this place .

Food is always the top quality here. This is my favourite pub to eat in – staff are always so friendly and the food is delicious. Would highly recommend, my partner and I are a twenty minute drive from Escrick and we always try to visit at least once a month. Also know friends and family who cannot rate this place highly enough.

Arrived early, but they seated us quickly. They were friendly and great with the kids. Sunday Roast beef was fantastic and good sized portions. Service was good despite a couple of big bookings in the restaurant.

Very over priced, also felt rushed to order even tho the pub was empty. Food was nice but had better. Been twice now but don't think I will be returning.

Excellent meal - great choice of gluten free options. Really enjoyed the meal - the beef was tender and the Yorkshire pudding was awesome. I would definitely come again.

The food was very good. Surroundings very nice. The barmaid/waitress was on her own and she did a very good job. I don't know if she would have coped with many more customers. We were a party of 7 and I think another three twos came in.

Staff brilliant, restaraunt very nice, need more gluten free options shown on the menu and actually available on the night. Will return, food excellent quality And delicious.

Very good ambience, lovely warm log fires, friendly staff and the Sunday roast was good with large portions and piping hot. Car park small so maybe have to park on street.

Good good, great bar staff, waitress not at all confident or knowledgeable about the food. Very pleasant individual but three wrong dishes. Quickly sorted tho.

Lovely meal great staff great atmosphere overall a fantastic way to celebrate Xmas would recommend the black bull to family and friends with the knowledge they would not be disappointed

My husband and I visited for food in December and had a wonderful meal, the steak pie was the best I've ever had couldn't fault anything 5*
