The Bold Hotel

Very attentive staff . Lovely meal in a beautiful restaurant. We sat at a round table near to the French doors and afterwards we went outside to sit as the weather was so warm.

Good food, well presented and piping hot in a pleasant restaurant. Good value for money in food and drink. Excellent service throughout ensuring we shall return.

Very poor service. Poor quality cooked . Steak returned twice . Had to argue to get any reduction in bill .manager never approached table to discuss. Very disappointed with whole experience.

Gorgeous glamorous restaurant and bar. Staff cheerful and friendly. Quality of food mixed. Service rather haphazard but not in a hurry so didn’t matter to us.

Good food, particularly the green brûlée. The Bold Hotel has a nice atmosphere though is over overly busy. The prices are decent and the staff very pleasant.

Staff very friendly upon arrival. The Chicken Kiev did not appear to be made by chef. The Gammon was excellent. Creme broule was hot on top but cool underneath. It was a quiet evening in restaurant for pre theatre.

Lovely restaurant with great service from the staff. The menu was varied and very reasonable and the food was well presented and very tasty! Would definitely recommend a visit!

Food served on cold plates and went cold quickly. Seem more interested in leaving views on trip advisor. Maybe need to prioritise things people are really concerned with. Entertainment was great so my mum did enjoy her mother's day treat. Come on Bold hotel you need to review kitchen plate service.

Such a lovely place. Lovely decor. Great service and atmosphere. Excellent food. Our son aged 11 made very welcome. Only disappointing thing was my cocktail was bit of a let down for £7.50 We will definitely return.

Seating at 19:45 and both my first choice starter and mains were already not available which was disappointing. The young man serving was lovely but the food took quite some time to arrive. Steak was lovely. Maybe go on a quieter night.

The food was delicious and was actually a reasonable price. The place itself is beautifully decorated. The only downside was the fact that the servers seemed fairly rude.

Lovely hotel, friendly helpful staff. Rooms were beautiful with everything you needed. Listed building so single glazed windows, bit noisy as there was a do on, but all quiet after a certain time. Breakfast was a bit disappointing. Very slow, long wait and then poached eggs were hard. Replaced though.

I was very disappointed as I ordered hot pot and was served cottage pie which I cook a lot at home. The waitress was very friendly and helpful and offered to bring the correct meal, but by this time my companions had all been served and I didn't want to wait any longer for my meal. I also ordered a glass of wine which was served in a dirty glass. I took a clean glass from a nearby table and emptied it in. All in all not a very pleasant experience. We were compensated with coffee which was very nice and I must once again reiterate how nice and helpful our waitress was and we will return " to have another go"

Really enjoyable experience. Service could have been a little faster, but was understandable due to how busy the restaurant was. Couldn’t fault the food though!

Had a pre show evening meal which was very nice but unfortunately our first choice from the menu was unavailable. We were told supplies had run out due to a busy lunch time! Great atmosphere in beautiful surroundings. Will definitely visit again.

Went for a lovely meal with friends, had a shared starter which came with plenty of options. For the mains I had sausage and mash, delicious. Very filling, wish we had room for pudding! Cocktails were amazing! Will definitely return.

Lovely restaurant had a wonderful evening with friends and I come in regular for meals and a drink with my fiancé. Service is great and staff very friendly and even did a surprise dessert for my friend this evening with her leaving her job xx

Went for a weekend at the end of October with the kids. No messing about checked straight in with 2 lovely gents manning the reception desk who couldn’t do enough for us. We were made to feel very welcome and comfortable from the get go. Kids wanted to eat so we had a snack in the bar area and the food was superb. Everything freshly prepared and delicious. We were booked in for an evening meal in the restaurant but had to move it back a little as the portions were very generous!! Our evening meal was fantastic, the inka grill gives the meat a fantastic flavour and all of our dishes cooked to perfection, including our steaks cooked as requested. We had breakfast both days and again faultless with great service all round. Our room was beautifully decorated and spotless. Room wasn’t too warm but there are fans for those that want some cool air. Rooms have a fridge and sky, plus a decent telly, in fact every fixture and fitting is luxurious, nice big Samsung TV’s, and decent toiletries. Also lovely fluffy towels and robes. We will be back!! Thank you to the staff!!

booked a table for a party of 6 for dinner before heading to a conference. Table booked for 5pm. Order given but we waited for an hour before meal was served and then one dish had to be sent back because it was hardly warm. Meal tasted ok, wine was expensive, and free coffee was offered due to the length of time we had to wait. 3 of us accepted this offer. Wasn't really impressed as delay in service left us under pressure for time. Restaurant wasn't busy at all. Staff were polite, though waitress seemed to avoid our table - no doubt aware of our growing frustration.

Staff great. Lovely decor and ambiance however food was not the best. Undercooked Chips. A suspect Blue Cheese sauce and over cooked steak. Was a shame as everything else was great.

We were a party of four, and this was our first visit. We thoroughly enjoyed it all , excellent service and food.we will return in the near future.

The restaurant served very good food. They had a wide selection of food on the menu and the breakfast room was well organised and gave you a good choice of cereals and cooked meals. I had no problems.

Starter calamari was really nice, had ribeye for main, fatty and small, for the price expected better. Wife's meal was ok but nothing to write home about.

Lovely meals in smartly refurbished hotel. Service a bit on the slow side considering the number of other diners in the restaurant when we ordered - it did get busy 20 minutes later though.

Terrible service, waited nearly an hour for main meal and 30 mins for dessert then given the wrong bill. Restaurant wasn't even busy so very poor.

Food was excellent and the service friendly and efficient. The restaurant is nicely decorated and well appointed and prices should probably be described as mid range.

setting is very nice with modern decoration throughout, drinks were reasonably priced with the cocktails tasting great. food was good akin to pub grub so no complaints.
