Great food and ambience, lovely way to spend a Sunday afternoon

Another fabulous lunch at the Braided Fig. Food was delicious and service was with a smile.

I went to The Braided Fig for lunch with a couple of friends. It was a Thursday but I was surprised to find there were only another couple of diners in which made the atmosphere quiet but not unpleasant. The menu is new and I chose the Ducktater, a confit duck ‘burger’ which came with coleslaw and chips - it was really tasty and very filling. My friends had the Festive Fig burger, a burger with sage & onion stuffing etc which they raved about. The waitress was very polite, attentive and friendly without being intrusive. Would recommend

Overall an amazing experience. I took my partner for our anniversary as he had never been to the Braided Fig before and I had had a lovely meal with friends there a few months ago. It did not leave us disappointed. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The service from both waitresses was lovely and attentive but we didn't feel rushed nor forgotten about. We will definitely be back and would thoroughly recommend.

The staff were very welcoming, and opened the door for us to bring in our pram. The service was attentive. We all had the Sunday roast which was delicious and a good sized portion. The only improvement I’d suggest would be to include drinks menus at the table.

We arrived at 6pm, was given some water and our order was taken at 6.20pm. we agreed with the server that one course only may be advisable as we told him that we had to leave by 7.15pm, to get to a concert in the music hall. ( I also wrote this note on the booking form.). When our one main course had not arrived at 6.55pm, I went and enquired about how much longer it would be. And was ready to leave. At 7pm, the food arrived, it was hot and quite tasty, though the steak was not pink as advertised, and requested the bill at the same time. We will not be coming again when we have a deadline to leave by, but I did expect to manage to eat more than one course in an hour and a quarter. Your loss,we would have spent more money in the restaurant.

Food was ok, nothing special I’m afraid. Unfortunately, the restaurant lacked any atmosphere and the service was extremely slow. 6pm booking and got our main courses at 7.15pm. Won’t rush back as rather expensive for just an ok experience.

Food was great but took an hour to arrive at the table. Restaurant was not busy when we arrived so no idea what the delay was for.

Been a while since I have been, but food was as good as ever. Staff very friendly and we all enjoyed everything :-)

I very much enjoyed my meal here, the turbot and roll to start were great. The service was excellent. Unfortunately my partners scampi had not been cleaned properly, we were not charged which made up for the disappointment ti some extent. The Viognier was lovely. I would like to return.

Visited here last night as part of Foodie Fortnight. 5 star food and service and we will absolutely be going back again.

Service was extremely slow and other tables on the normal menu being served before us. If a restaurant decides to partake in aberdeen restaurant week, honor these customers with the same level of service

This was our first visit to the Braided Fig. The food and service were absolutely fantastic, we will definitely be returning. Thank you to the staff everyone was so friendly and helpful, a real credit to the restaurant.

Nice ambience , friendly, helpful staff & nice menu. All our meals were delicious. 60 pound reservation fee a bit unusual given that it was so quiet in the restaurant on a Wednesday & may make you uncompetitive ..

Stumbled upon it - it is quite hidden as it is overpowered by the pub next door - and went in 20 mins early for my booking - not an issue as it was a slow night. Offered water and a drink immediately, and selected a cocktaisl off the interesting menu - bar looked pretty stocked so i am confident I would have been able to order off-book. Pretty extensove wine list for a place this size! Had a couple of white wines and the Gin/Elderflower/Prosecco cocktail - sprig of mint and frozen grapes was very complimentary. I chose the Cullen Skink which was hearty and smoky - lots of leek and potatoes and not overpowered by too much fish - just the right amount. I added black pepper to mine. The crusty bread was amazing. Main was the North Sea Cod on a chick pea and sausage tomato cassoulet - I couln't finish as i was too full. Cod was moist and flaky, chickpeas al dente and broccholini was crunchy and verdant green. Would recommend.

We had a lovely meal. The food was excellent and the service very good. Particularly enjoyed the chicken wontons which is one of their special dishes. One of Aberdeens hidden gems.
