Staff friendly, welcoming and good service and very good food The only negative comment is that the temperature in the restaurant was not very warm, sat with my coat on for most of the meal

Super friendly pub, in the heart of a wonderful Cotswold village. Can’t beat a sunny Sunday walk followed by a roast!

This is a lovely cosy pub for a drink after a long country walk with the dog and I’d heartily recommend it for that. But we hadn’t eaten here for some time and our post-Christmas lunch was really disappointing. The vegetarian lasagne was served with non-veggie chips and salad that was straight from the 1970s, ready-slathered in salad cream and full of raw white onion. The lasagne itself was just about okay but really only just - soggy and tasteless. Given that the meal took an hour to arrive, cost £20 per head and we were seated in a crowded corridor with people queuing for the bar, I really wouldn’t recommend eating here. Which I say with genuine regret, because it’s a lovely location and we’d been looking forward to a treat.

Never been before but thought it was a great pub in a very picturesque village , perfect after an autumn walk with a roaring log fire, very good selection of drinks and a very good reasonably priced menu.

Lovely cosy traditional pub, we had the roast which was just ok, basic vegetables and potatoes and Yorkshire puddings that didn’t look homemade, at £20 each I wouldn’t rush back to eat there. A shame as a lovely location.

Used to visit here regularly and really enjoy Sunday lunch, disappointed that vegetables all mixed together so if you didn’t like cabbage then the eating experience not so good, price has risen considerably but not the quality, previously would always have recommended the Carpenters but not so after today really.

Nice spot but food unfortunately bland, very basic and pretty small portions. Had lasagna it had very little meat sauce in it and don't think it had ever seen a tomato. Salmon was dreadful! dry with overcooked veg and no sauce. Even a wedge of lemon would have helped. Pudding was nice and the highlight of a disappointing meal. Had the feeling they had over booked. 2 lads behind bar were lovely but the stress was showing.
