About The Chequers at Cutnall Green
Few things are as celebrated in the British culinary tradition as the humble country pub, but the quality can often be variable. The British pub tradition is one that endures into the modern era, and at The Chequers on Kidderminster Road in Cutnall Green, they are keeping that tradition alive in style. Home to Roger Norbett, the former England national football team chef, but that is where the tradition of failure ends: their menu is a complete success, filled with British favourites that draw in diners from Worcester, Droitwich and beyond to this rural setting. In fact, when you’re in Cutnall Green, you can enjoy the delights of the village with historic houses, antiquing opportunities and plenty of walking trails.
If you arrive at The Chequers on Kidderminster Road early, you can sample the finer points of the great British breakfast – bacon, sausage, egg, beans, mushroom, tomatoes and hash browns – and if you get there for lunch, you can enjoy their sandwiches, pub lunch classics and stonebaked pizzas. Add to this a full evening menu, a bar stocked with superb wines and traditional cask ales and you’re well on your way to a great British night out. Book your table at The Chequers in Cutnall Green and make the journey in from Worcester, Droitwich or further afield for a superb meal. In fact, don’t just take our word for it: they’re listed in the AA Guide to the Best Pubs & Inns and Michelin’s Eating Out in Pubs Guide, so you know they’re top quality.
Lovely food. Attentive staff. Spotless beautifully decorated dining room and bar Highly recommended if you enjoy quality food in delightful surroundings Well worth a visit
Great atmosphere, easy to find and good beer. Food good too. It's not easy to find a pub that's different these days but this one is. It's got loads of character, staff are attentive as well as being friendly and it's good value too.
Great experience as always is. Food and service absolutely first class. Went for a lunchtime visit and had full menu and specials board, only improvement might have been a few cheaper lunchtime deals.
Very good service, shown to our table straight away by polite and profesional staff. Drinks arrived swiftly. Very good food and although quite busy service was quick but not rushed.
We took my mother-in-law to the Chequers for the first time for her birthday on a busy Saturday evening. The service was very good and the food was excellent. I had the seabass which was delicious. My husband and I have been to the Chequers a couple of times now and have found the food to be extremely good. I usually chose the fish as it is excellent. The only point is that it is really necessary to book a table before your visit as it is always busy - a good sign!
We booked a table for four people on the occasion of my partner's birthday. We were made comfortable in the lounge area before being called through to our table. Between the four of us we ordered a variety of meals - two courses each. What a delicious meal we had! The service was excellent too. The Chequers is always our first choice for special occasions and it never disappoints - than you!
Fantastic environment and great food. I worked at the chequers when I was 14, one of my first jobs I think, and when I walked in a barely recognised the place, its trendy and upmarket yet still has the feeling of a country pub. Food is equisite, a real explosion of flavour. My only suggestion would be complimentary bread and oils before starters and not as an optional starter
Comfortable, quiet surroundings in the main restaurant. Extensive menu for a lunchtime meal. Some expensive dishes on offer but plenty of choice at reasonable prices. Both my colleague and I chose the same starter and main course - home made soup followed by the pie of the day which was chicken, ham hock and leek. Very good portion sizes and beautifully cooked and presented. We went away full but not over faced. I will definitely eat there again.
Lovely atmosphere but even lovelier Calves Liver which was absolutely delicious, so rare to see it on a menu and I cant resist having it when I go to the Chequers or the Bell and Cross. The gravy is to die for. My other half had the Ham and Pea pie which was fabulous too. We are visiting again very soon. Great service too.
I met 2 ex work colleagues for a very enjoyable lunch. Service was excellent, staff were very pleasant and wanted to look after you without being 'over the top' and food was a good standard for what I would describe as 'top end' pub prices. Very nice 'old fashioned' pub in a small village. Very clean. I would definitely recommend!
An early dinner to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary and The Chequers pulled out all the stops. The starter was good, the main course was one of the best we have ever eaten and the desert was to die for! The service was excellent. We have been before but will be back again, perhaps sooner rather than later!
We enjoyed the meal, and found the service very pleasant. The starter (British picnic) was unusual and well-presented. Mains (burger and cod special) were tasty, though the presentation of the burger was rather uninspiring. Desserts were delicious - the lemon tart with raspberry sorbet was one of the best desserts I've ever had, with zingy tastes and great textures. We'll be visiting again.
An excellent restaurant. Food is always good. I had a steak and it was excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful and though we were last in there was no pressure for us to leave. Every time I eat there I say I'll be back and I will be!!
Excellent food and good service. A pleasant evenings as a result. Attentive staff although when taking order for one drink on a table of four, didn't ask others if they wanted one, and two of us had to ask. Only minor issue and did not impact on enjoyment of the evening. Busy venue in a pleasant environment.
Brilliant food, served by helpful happy staff. Feel sorry for the staff as there was a moaning couple who were clearly out to try and get a free meal (demanding gluten and dairy free and calling them disgusting because they didn't produce said array of food).
Excellent food, very friendly staff. We visited for a family lunch out, we had three courses which was more than enough. My Lamb was stunning. The staff made a fuss of my kids and were very good with my Aunt and her requirements
Lovely food, friendly welcome oming prompt service.Delicious fresh fish. Warm and welcoming on a cold evening. In the bar area locals drinking, atmosphere very nice. In the restaurant quiet enough to hear conversation but not silent. Business good even on a Monday evening early.
Very enjoyable food and service. We went on a Saturday for lunch - we couldn't get in on a Saturday for dinner because it was booked 3 - 4 weeks in advance - and both my wife and I had a beautiful meal off the "Specials" board.
Had an early Sunday evening meal for four and the whole experience was really pleasant throughout. Staff were friendly and courteous, the atmosphere was just right. The food was extremely well presented and very tasty. Will definitely call again.
Beautiful food, lovely restaurant and very helpful and friendly staff, it's a winning combination for me. As a result of our experience we have booked the beach huts for our family and friends to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary.
Excellent meal and good service, as always. We go there regularly - and this is why! Helps that they do superb real ales as well. A quality pub atmosphere in the bar, then a great restaurant next door.
Very nice surroundings with good service and quality food, only issue was I ordered the pie of the day because they told me what it was only to be told during the starter that they had ran out, changed to lamb which was very nice.
Friendly staff, food was excellent. Service was first class, choice of menu was good and wine list options were excellent. Highly recommended never had a bad meal here and have been using for a number of years.
Great menu, well prepared and presented. Friendly staff and good service in a pleasant setting. A good place for us to go for a special occasion - or indeed just for a nice lunch or evening out.
First time here. Great service, wonderful variety of food, and very tasty! Lovely ambience too. Will definitely return. Unfortunately the weather wasn't too kind and would have loved to sit outside on what look very comfy sofas!
Great place for a relaxed atmosphere and great food. Highly recommended. Staff were professional and courteous and looked after us. Service was impeccable. Price was about right for the quality of the food. Will go again.
Beautiful decor, fabulous outside dining/drinking area. Food was delicious and staff more than helpful. Look forward to trying the regular menu as we visited on a Sunday but still a great variety to choose
Great food at a sensible price in a nice atmosphere. Staff were helpful too. We were a party of all ages and everyone felt comfortable in the environment. Do recommend and we shall return.
The food was of high quality and right size portions. Service was great. Only slight issue was that it took a while to get the bill. At least you are not rushed Highly Recommend
Excellent atmosphere in the restaurant, warm welcome by friendly staff. Menu was good, lots of choices. The food came hot, full of flavour, excellently presented. A lovely way to spend a Sunday lunchtime.
Nice environment, attentive staff and nice food. Would come back if in the area. Had the cod from the specials board which was very nice, as was the cheese to finish.
Great atmosphere.....excellent food.... Often go for weekend breakfast -so Sunday lunch with friends was a change....and well worth it. Staff always really friendly.... Very busy so would suggest booking is essential.
Visited for my wife's birthday. The staff were very friendly, the service excellent and the food superb. This was not our first visit and it will definitely not be our last.
A fantastic welcome and service provided. The food was fantastic and not overpriced. You felt that you had the time to eat and to take your time rather than being rushed.
Excellent attentive service. Good quality food from the specials board - I had the halibut my wife the lamb. Good location and pleasant atmosphere in both the bar and restaurant.
Booked easily on line. Lovely old pub. Staff very welcoming. Great atmosphere.. Menu extensive. Food as always was delicious. Do not have any criticism at all.. Highly recommend to all.
Although the pub was quite busy for a Thursday lunch time, there was little help with my disabled mother. There are no grab rails in the WC cubicle either. As always, the food is really lovely.
Great atmosphere and friendly staff. The homemade piccalilli with the starter my husband really enjoyed. We both had a superb cod dish from the mains special board. another enjoyable lunch.
Excellent food and outstanding service. Friendly staff. Highly recommend. A great choice of food to chose from and good value for money. Our second time there abdcwoujd dine again.
Great food and excellent service. The specials are always worth a try and the starters are a joy with a good selection of drinks a great place to visit
Great food. Great service and great pace with no rushing you! Happy to recommend this pub. Would like to visit when the sun is out and enjoy the garden!

Great setting, great service and first class food. Haven't eaten here is years but recommended by friends. Good to find a local venue that's relaxed and not disappointing.
Fantastic menu, was very difficult to choose! And the food was excellent when it arrived. Service great too, very friendly staff with just the right level of attention.
Great atmosphere, we were looked after by every member of staff from the bar to the restaurant! lovely place , cracking food , we will be back 👍🏻
Excellent food. The only complaint was the waitresses were too quick giving you the next course. I like to take my time when having a meal with friends.
Really great Lunch. Varied menu. Good service. Liver and Chicken burgers were particularly good. Reasonable prices in pleasant surroundings. The Pub was very busy. Good idea to book.
Excellent food and excellent service. Very busy for a Monday evening but service was very prompt and the meals were at the table in no time. Highly recommended.
