The Coconut Island Brighton

This was our first visit to Coconut Island and will not be our last !! Brilliant atmosphere. Brilliant service. Brilliant food. Great cocktails. No one in our party of 4 could find fault in the experience. (Being a ceoliac myself, Gluten free. I was able to RELAX and ENJOY my meal knowing that just about every item on the menu was GF. That's a very rare feeling !!) From the booking to settling the bill it was faultless. Thank you Coconut Island.

Incredible food - we had the tasting menu and so glad we did. Every dish was bursting with flavour, and we got to try things that we might not have ordered. We will definitely be back. One of the best meals we've had out in Brighton for a long time!

Incredible food! Everything was delicious!I I am vegan and I was impressed by the choices. I had the Be-troot and the Cashew Curry while my companions had pork, chicken, prawns and cheese! Everything was outstanding. Plus lovely service. Highly recommended!

Amazing! Everything about it was superb.authentic, delicious, great ambience and service.

My first time eating Sri Lankan food and it did not disappoint. We started with 2 delicious cocktails, the gin and cucumber one is amazing. We then had goat curry, pineapple curry, spicy prawns, beetroot and roti. It was all delicious, however the prawns were hard to eat as still in their shell and we weren’t offered wipes or a finger bowl. One unfortunate thing, we sadly weren’t able to leave a tip as they only take cash and neither of us had cash on us. We will definitely be back.

Visited Coconut Island in Brighton and was blown away. The food was fresh, and full of flavour. The cocktails were amazing as was the Lion beer! Every member of staff was warm and welcoming, and the place had a brilliant atmosphere. Would highly recommend and will definitely be coming back.

We had the loveliest time at The Coconut Island this weekend. Food was incredible and our wonderful waitress Julia made the experience even better. Just can't fault it and we are already planning on coming back!

A really friendly restaurant with absolutely delicious food. The person who served us (I think was called Naveem?) Was really lovely. We had never been before and he answered our questions very patiently! The food came out quickly but, as it was a busy Friday night, the service was slightly slow and there was no rush to get us out to get more people in. The music was quite loud and I had trouble hearing my friend opposite but that's such a nitpick. All in all, its been a while since I've really enjoyed eating out and I will definitely be back as there's more dishes I want to devour!

Food was fantastic, really full of flavour, spices you could taste and enjoy, heat but not overpowering. Service exceptional, attentive without being intrusive. Knowledgeable and passionate about the find. Great decor, atmosphere and overall feel as well.

Great service from Aaniq, he provided helpful advice with our choices. Perfect amount for 2, super tasty. Highlights were the clay pot curry and squids game fry.

Lovely restaurant in Brighton. We went to Sri Lanka this summer so it was lovely to refresh our holiday memories eating some of the delicious food Sri Lanka offers. Nice decoration and lovely waiters too.

First experience of Sri Lankan cuisine. Tasty food, good selection, pleasant staff. Didn’t know what to expect, but nothing blew me away. The desserts were the stars of the show.

Nice vibe but v small portions (call it small plates if you must!) Cashew curry delicious but basically a bag of cashews in a dish - couldn’t eat it all as who can eat that many cashews! Needs some veg to make it totally edible. Service really nice & friendly.

The host was friendly and knowledgeable. He made suggestions for dishes and explained the ingredients so we could make an informed choice. The food was delicious and plentiful and the Coconut theme was refreshing. Would certainly recommend this restaurant.
