The Coconut Tree - Bristol - Glos Road

Nice atmosphere at The Coconut Tree, Found was different and interesting. Vegetarian options were less interesting and all tasted a bit similar. Service was a tiny bit slow but it was quite busy. Overall a satisfying experience.

This was my second visit, drawn back because of the atmosphere and food but this seemed to be lacking. Service was slow, despite a very quiet restaurant and we waited a long time for our drinks. Appreciate food comes along at varied times but waited a while and when it did arrive it wasn't that warm. A bit disappointed.

The food was delicious, there waiters were lovely but the music was ridiculously loud. Maybe I’m just too old, but I don’t like to shout while I’m having dinner!

Ordered the pork and curry goat, it was very tough and very small dishes for the price but nice flavour. The calamari was beautiful. Lovely staff and nice ambiance.

Fantastic food and drinks we went for the all you can eat and drink brunch, 1-3 people they give you 1.1/2hrs but because there was no one 8n the restaurant at that time 3pm they gave us an extra 1/2hr we did order food and drinks in that extra hour and they did try and charge 7s separate for those items but when I told him that they were allowing us the extra time he doon changed the bill and put it right, will be returning again next week

Great evening with good food and service. Acoustics not great as noisy and sometimes hard to hear conversation and waitress.

The food was absolutely amazing. Hoppers and Kotthu are really special. Devil chicken wings and Calamari are savoury. Be warned, the chicken curry is only for people who can deal with really spicy food.

Food was great all the dishes arrived at separate times including one dish arriving when everyone had almost finished there meals, are waitress was extremely rude and abrupt and really shouldn't be working in the service industry

Amazing as usual! The most amazing staff who go out of their way to make us feel at home & treat us with such kindness and warmth. Honestly, hands down the best customer service of any restaurant we’ve ever been to. The vibe here is super chilled, relaxed & happy, no one is ever miserable or grumpy & you leave feeling like your soul is filled with Sri Lankan sunshine. The food, oh my god the food!! Absolutely bloody delicious! It’ the most flavourful, tasty & wonderful stuff! The portions are really good size for a sharing dish Place & the quality doesn’t ever falter. Time after time, it’s spot on sensational & we will never ever tire of eating here (& we’ve been hundreds of times) Thanks again to the whole team who make each time we visit a pleasure & leave wanting to come back ASAP.

incredible food! if you wanted to try vegan food or take plant based eaters somewhere I would highly recommend this restaurant! some dishes are smaller than others so it’s best to look online (google maps) before being disappointed with portion sizes. cocktails were okay, average price for a city. They also give you paper boxes if you cannot finish your meal, makes for an amazing lunch the next day

Food very nice. Very disappointed that I could not use the gift voucher I was given as the unused balance isn’t carried over. Our meal was £26 but I had a £50 voucher which I was told would have to be submitted or pay cash which I did.

great food and service, quite a lot of customers in the place, and thus noisy, had 1H30min for our table so not the ideal thing if you're celebrating/relaxing; but great food in a fast paced environment!

Booked in advance table for 7. Didnt realise it was a high table with bar stool seating. This wasnt ideal for elderly parents or very tall young adults to fit legs under but was okay. Food was very good, interesting & lots of flavours we all enjoyed tasting one another’s. Dishes fairly small tapas style/size, but ordering3-4 each worked well. Exceptional value with 50% off food bill

Wow I am always blown away by how good the food is here. This is the first time I have eaten at the restaurant, have had food delivered before. Every tapas dish I've tried has been exceptional - just so flavourful, and somehow everything seems to work together really well, no matter what dishes you have. The staff were lovely and really efficient. The only bit of constructive criticism I have - I'm vegan but the only three spicy dishes available were meat-based ones, and I love my spicy food, so might be nice to have an option. There is however lots on the menu in general for vegans so that's great! Also, the spicy sauce that said 'not for the faint-hearted' was unfortunately not spicy at all, and even my friend who us not as into spicy food agreed it wasn't. I guess for a Sri-Lankan place I'd expect a bit more heat if you want it, obviously I understand they have to cater to everyone, but it would be nice to have the option. But seriously this place is incredible and they know how to do flavours, so very high praise!
