The Coconut Tree - Bristol - Glos Road

A restaurant with an emphasis on selecting a number of small dishes , depending on preferences e.g. vegetarian and level of hunger. The advantage of this selection of small dishes means is that you can benefit from a wide selection of flavours, textures and colours. Most were flavoursome although a couple didnt work quite so well but overall very enjoyable.

Food was not to our liking but was all done very well we just didn’t like the flavours but the staff we excellent and service excellent

The food was fabulous but the restaurant was very busy - to be expected with eat out to help out. We love the food at Coconut Tree and will be returning for a 3rd visit shortly.

Booked a couple of days before as still offering Eat Out to Help Out from Monday to Wednesday. Small plates are good for sharing and allow for a lot of different flavours and tastes. Recommend having at least one hopper each with the other dishes. Lots of vegetarian dishes on offer and also some great tasting meat curries. Not expensive normally and an absolute steal with the reductions on offer, no wonder it’s popular, especially with a younger crowd.

Poor service, kept waiting. Food was below average. Hopper is overrated; it is tasteless. Offered rice that nearly broke our teeth.

The food was incredible, and the cocktails were delicious. Would be helpful if they had little cocktail sticks on what is what on the food 🤔. Will be coming back soon! Thank you coconut tree! AMAZING.

We had fresh tasty delicious food here and I was able to choose healthy options which were vegan too which suited me fine. The waiter was helpful in advising us how much to order too. Looking forward to going back.

Early dinner at 17:30 and was already pretty busy. Took a little while to get a soft drink while waiting to be seated. The overall service was very good and food excellent. Shall visit again.

Good food! But staff not that organised. Various different people serving same tables, with orders being lost and wrong orders arriving. But potentially teething/new staff issues. Food made up for it!

Fantastic restaurant, great people serving you. Many items not available and the service was slower than usual with food coming out at staggered times, but it was the Eat Out To Help Out offer. Will certainly be returning to our favourite eating place.

Great staff and an interesting mix of small plates. 8 small plates between 2 worked out good. Fun trying out new flavours and cooking styles.

loved the food but we did "choose for me" and said no spicy, and to have meat options over veggie. we got given spicy veggie food.

Considering we booked during quarantine, I wasn’t expecting to get seated fairly quickly and had to wait around! This was my second visit and my first visit was a lot better, the roti was still nice but too crispy compacted to my first visit and I felt that we were waiting around constantly for example we would get our food but no cutlery, we asked for napkins and it’s like the waiters forgot about us. Definitely recommend not sitting on the high chairs because it is uncomfortable. Apart from the comments made above, the food that I ordered was very pleasant and my friends and I throughly enjoyed!

Delicious food and a lovely evening all round. The service was a little slow but it was very busy.
