Absolutely amazing food and service. Also they are great with the kids

1st time visiting & will definitely return. Food was delicious as were the cocktails. But I have to give a shout out to the staff all of them were really friendly and seemed to be happy in their work. Extra praise for our waitress Sophie who was really lovely and very helpful & knowledgeable . Nice to find service staff who were happy to spend time with the customers rather than them being a nuisance as is often the case these days.

The staff are very nice. A little disappointed with the food this evening after having several meals at the coconut tree. Also the restaurant was freezing

Went for a birthday meal. Staff were very informative and helpful explaining the menu and the new government guidelines. Plus got given a free cocktail for my birthday! Food was amazing and very generous portions. Great experience. Will definitely be returning soon.

Food was amazing, but the service really let it down. Our food came before our drinks, so I had to get up to follow them up at the bar (they had been forgotten). The lady at the bar quickly rectified this and our waiter helped bring the drinks to the table. One of my party then ordered a desert while we ordered our last round of drinks and this too was forgotten. I would still absolutely recommend this place, we went on a busy Friday night so I am sympathetic that staff were probably rushed off their feet. This doesn't discount the fact that the staff are extremely friendly and the food is amazing - we'll definitely return but will probably avoid busier days in the future. One suggestion - there's a little side room where there's extra seating. We were sat here and felt a bit like we'd been forgotten about - it's difficult to get a waiter's attention if you need/want anything as they generally walk past the room between the bar and kitchen. Consider assigning staff their own sections to look after.

We arrived early and were accommodated. The decor and atmosphere is so cool and the service is laid back but professional. They know the menu. The food was amazing and reasonably priced. Have the polenta mushrooms!! Amazing for a friendly catch up lunch of evening with drinks. Make sure you havea lot of room in your belly, highly recommended

Amazing food, great atmosphere, lovely service. I went in August when I came across it with some friends and was intrigued by the thought of Sri Lankan food, let alone Sri Lankan street food. Well, it went above my expectations, absolutely delicious. Had to go again a few weeks later with my boyfriend and have got it book again with a friend in Bristol as I told her about it and she really wants to go. So much choice for vegans as well as meat eaters, great for everyone.

Food was good but not quite as good as at another branch. The atmosphere was a little flat due to it being quiet and social distancing

Very friendly service, staff were busy but attentive. We were seated in a direction, nice funky decor . Only trouble was the other two parties were so loud we couldn't have a conversation however this is not the fault of the restaurant. Food great, amazing roast potatoes ! I recommend the polenta mushrooms. Nice pint of orchard pig went well with the food. We ordered nine dishes (sounds a lot but they are small tapas style servings ) to share between two of us, it was plenty we really enjoyed it.

Food was lovely apart from the undercooked chicken wings which was taken away and removed from the bill we ordered prawns and was told 20mins later they were unavailable so had it removed from the bill we wasn’t informed that the place was only taking card payments so we asked for the bill and left cash on leaving they then refused to have the money said only take card payments, this was not mentioned anywhere or informed during the time we were there. Apart from that everyone was friendly service was quick and the food tasted amazing would go back.

I was a little anxious about sitting in a restaurant due to Covid but the staff were wonderful and the seating arrangement was comfortable with enough room between the tables for me to feel at ease. All the staff wore masks and there was hand sanitizer at multiple points. My boyfriend and I went to Sri Lanka last year and we were looking forward to having some of the foods we experienced there and oh did it! Everything was delicious and really reminded us of the delicious foods we had while travelling. Wonderful to see so many vegan options that is typical of Sri Lankan cuisine. Delicious, thank you!

We absolutely love the coconut tree! I visited once before lockdown and also got a takeaway from there during, then couldn’t wait to go again once it reopened. I’ve been to Sri Lanka and I can honestly say I prefer the food at the Coconut Tree. It is so good! Would highly recommend the kottu and goat curry!

Fantastic meal, full of amazing flavours. Highly recommend the goat curry and the breaded cuttlefish ...yum! We had 6 dishes plus a roti and rice between 2 of us ...a big too much food, would give the pumpkin curry a miss next time. Will definitely be back!
