The Counting House - Grimsby

We went for Sunday lunch .... it was delicious. We visit Cleethorpes a few times a year and always make sure that we end our weekend with Sunday lunch at the Counting House. It's the best Sunday lunch I've ever had (except my mum and Grandma's ... sorry). We will be back soon :-)

It was great- top sausage... sausage... sausage... sausage... I think there's an echo in here.

Book an Afternoon tea for my friend who is celiac. When we got there they was unable to have it as it wasn’t booked as an Afternoon Tea. I booked it on line but It’s not very clear to use so I think you need to make it more clearer. My Friend came from Sheffield for the day. And it was a disaster.

One of, if not, the best meal Ive had in Cleethorpe in ages. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The staff were extremely attentive. One negative point would be when 'loud people' from the bar, came through and began sitting at tables in the grill area. Sort this out and it would be a perfect 10/10 evening.

Wide ranging menu. Very good food! Good music choices too (was exactly like they’d raided my 80s tape collection!)

The service and food were good but it was so noisy making it difficult to have a conversation.

Lovely lunch didn’t have afternoon tea but will definitely go back to have one they looked amazing! Having said that our lunch was lovely Would recommend x

Lovely food great service but a little noisy if you want to sit and chat, the restaurant is in the actual pub so gets quite busy on a weekend evening

Lovely atmosphere and staff. The cocktails were gorgeous and I had the stuffed peppers and they were incredible. I highly recommend the counting house.

What an excellent dinner today. Definitely not run of the mill pub food. Quality food expertly prepared . Presentation & Service excellent. Perfectly priced.

Breakfast was delicious, absolutely love the Veggie breakfast. Great service and staff were lovely particularly Jess who is always very attentive and always interacts with customers.

Disappointing tasteless kebabs slow drinks service at table not good

Breakfast was lovely, just a little disappointed that it was a celebration for our daughter and we went especially for the pancakes for her however they hadn’t got any! Hopefully next time we visit they will have them.

Good and service was excellent. However as it's just in the rear of the bar it was extremely noisey. Would recommend for a friend's get together but not a meal for 2.

What a fabulous place and meal. The staff were welcoming, friendly and obliging (giving the perfect balance between care and space), while the food and drinks were simply superb. The afternoon tea was immense. Three layers of around the world delights, and more than enough choice! From minestrone and nachos, to croissants, pavlovas and scones, the food was well prepared, presented and tasted fantastic. It was certainly worth the price. The cocktails, too, were very good. They had a great selection and the staff knew exactly what they were doing! I would recommend that everyone come and eat (or just pop in for a drink) here. The atmosphere is so relaxed, and the quality of the dining experience is one of the best I’ve had in a long time.

We're regulars for breakfast at the Counting House, I always opt for the omelette and like the fact you receive a tea or coffee refill. Nice and relaxed on a Saturday morning and sets us up for the day. The waitress is lovely, always friendly and efficient.

Overall is a lovely experience, only if the food doesn’t needs us to wait for an hour will be perfect ! Staff & food are lovely !

Nice food but a bit noisy to be able to hold a conversation. Would be nice if the restaurant was more separated from the bar.

Food was absolutely delicious, the staff very helpful and friendly. Surroundings comfortable, warm ambiance although seating tucked away but not too much of an issue.

The food was very good - we all ordered different main courses and all were lovely and freshly cooked. The service was friendly and efficient and they serve great cocktails too

The food was great and a good lunchtime atmosphere. Good menu selection, plenty of choice. Afternoon tea looked wonderful, may have to come back to sample.

Staff were brilliant, beef cheeks to start were absolutely lovely. Pate was bland unfortunately but sometimes it happens. Two half pizzas for main and they were both superb! Great drinks menu, and when I say great I mean they have everything you can think of and more! Will be back
