The restaurant was busier than expected and there was a very rowdy crowd at one of the tables which made the atmosphere more like a rugby or football pub, but they left after an hour or so, thankfully. Bar service was a bit slow, but the staff were pleasant. We were offered a table that was tucked away in a corner, but that would have been so difficult to get in and out of due to the close proximity of others, that we declined it. Another suitable table was provided quickly. Food had to be ordered at the bar, which was a minor inconvenience, because if a dish isn't available, you have to return to the table to ask the affected member of your party for an alternative. A larger party than ours was provided with a table ordering service though. Food-wise, all I can say is that you get a lot. Starters in particular can easily overwhelm - so choose with care. A sharing grill platter for two (the large) was way to big for too people. The vegetable samosas are just spicy mash in a pastry that is quite dry and not pleasant. Not like samosas elsewhere. When our main courses arrived, we were too full from the starters (we all tucked in to the grill and pretty much left the samosas) to make any impact and ended up getting takeaway containers, The sauce on the chicken jalfreizi had the distinct flavour and texture of flour. It wasn't the best, but it was incredibly spicy in a nice way. One of our party opted for the smallest tandoori mixed grill as a main course, but had to take it home because of the overload from the starter!

I wanted to celebrate my birthday with my family and came because of a recommendation. We were s party of 11 ranging in ages from 3 to 80! Everyone enjoyed the experience, the service was excellent and the food delicious. Thank you!

Meet up with friends, we're grieving for our list ones. Meal was nice, waiter were fine but the end of meal we ordered coffee at 9pm we were informed by staff managing the hot drink machine the Restaurant has no milk to make our coffee and tea! As I expressed my disbelief than disappoint ment, I noticed staff members grinning. I am disgusted by the manner of the managing staff in duty!

Food was great, don't recommend if your claustrophobic tables are packed in and far too close together. Super quick service poppadoms arrived after our main meal. Very busy and claustrophobic enviroment fine if you want a quick meal but not if you want a relaxing meal with friends or family.

Went when it first opened, wasn’t over impressed to be honest! Haven’t been since then until this evening, must say everything was perfect, food and service was great!!!

Very busy Wednesday evening, being a first time customer wasn’t clear if it was waitress service or if you ordered at the bar, staff were very pleasant and helpful when approached. Table wasn’t quite ready even though we turned up 5 mins late, but was ushered to get ourselves drinks at the bar whilst waiting. Food was lovely and will definitely be going back in the near future.

Every time I’m in Birmingham I always go to covered wagon, I tried the soya keema definitely recommend. The cardamom was slightly too strong but with butter naan 👌.

All good, but it was very busy and noisy, not a venue for a quite night out. In saying that a really good Saturday night vibe!

Booked a table for 8.00pm. You get a tab arranged then it's excellent service all the way 1st rate lovely food and waiter service Very clean place Lovely aray of different draught and bottled beers Toilet very clean Would recommend The Covered Wagon to anyone lovely place, lovely curtious staff with excellent customer service. Will definitely be going back again

Food was good only negative was that most of the starters have the sauce sauce so all tasted the same, they need to make some of the c starters without sauce and just normal ingredients.
