Anyone keen for the best burgers in Middlesbrough? Head right to The Cow Shed on Linthorpe Road, friends, because there you’ll find brilliant buns and even better beef brought together to form big and brilliant burgers that will have you, erm, something else beginning with B? Yes, at this little golden nugget of central Middlesbrough you’ll find gourmet beef burgers as well as pork, chicken and fish burgers, along with some irresistible veggie options – all at mighty fine prices. The Cow Shed is cool and popular so do reserve a table in advance.
In any major city you’ll find a fridge full of half-decent burger restaurants, but in Middlesbrough, the only one you really need to consider as top dog is The Cow Shed. This is a burger restaurant that quite rightly lets the burgers do all of the talking, so we’ll go ahead and get stuck right into the menu. Appetisers come in all shapes and sizes, specifically balls of mac and cheese, rings of the onion variety, halloumi fries and fish or beef tacos. After that, it’s very much a question of what’s your beef? As even though there’s great variety on the menu, the beef burgers are where The Cow Shed of central Middlesbrough comes into its own.
The burgers come classic or a little more experimental, whichever you prefer, but certainly some of our favourites include the Brisket on Biscuit (BBQ brisket on soda or corn bread with plenty of Monterey Jack), the Peanut Butter Jelly Jam that sees two 4oz patties oozing with bacon, crunchy PB and lashing of jam, while the Sticky Icky is loaded with camembert, sauteed mushrooms, bacon, Dijon mustard and curious cola onions. If all of that sounds as delightful to you as it does to us then waste no time in getting a reservation booked and in the calendar. Middleborough, thou shalt never go without good burger again!

Amazing night with the husband gorgeous food! Brilliant service what a fantastic set of staff. Will be back again for sure. What a fab addition to Middlesbrough
Great flood as always. 3rd time going and will definitely be going back. Cocktails and starters are very nice and then the mains really finish it all off.
Great food and service on a very busy evening. Would recommend
Our second visit and it was excellent. The atmosphere is good and the staff are friendly and enthusiastic. The food is really good and well prepared. The burgers are excellent and the Chunky Funky chips are to die for! They did get our order incorrect but it was remedied immediately and refunded so top marks. We will definitely be returning.
Really friendly and helpful staff. We took our 3yr old with us and they made us feel so welcome. Great atmosphere. Food was gorgeous would definitely recommend the cow shed to family and friends. Will also be visiting again soon 😀 x
Had a lovely meal here as a family. Customer service, food and cocktails were great. Decor in restaurant fab. Kids menu choices also fab, my 3yr old loved the chicken burger. Only thing that let it down being 6/6 was the temperature in there, it was a bit chilly!
We went on a Tuesday evening and half the options on the menu were unavailable, including half of the drinks menu. The service was slow and unwelcoming. The food was ok at best. I’ve heard people say good things about The Cow Shed so maybe we went on a bad day. But I don’t think I’ll go again.
Food was nice got sat near the door which was very cold as door doesn't shut properly has to keep getting up to close it and kept our coats on it was that cold If your a dessert person don't entertain this place as it doesn't sell them very disappointed won't return again
Second visit, even though we just squeezed in as the last ones at 9:30 on a Saturday night, staff were very accommodating and the food as great as ever. Rounded off a great evening
