In any major city you’ll find a fridge full of half-decent burger restaurants, but in Middlesbrough, the only one you really need to consider as top dog is The Cow Shed. This is a burger restaurant that quite rightly lets the burgers do all of the talking, so we’ll go ahead and get stuck right into the menu. Appetisers come in all shapes and sizes, specifically balls of mac and cheese, rings of the onion variety, halloumi fries and fish or beef tacos. After that, it’s very much a question of what’s your beef? As even though there’s great variety on the menu, the beef burgers are where The Cow Shed of central Middlesbrough comes into its own.
The burgers come classic or a little more experimental, whichever you prefer, but certainly some of our favourites include the Brisket on Biscuit (BBQ brisket on soda or corn bread with plenty of Monterey Jack), the Peanut Butter Jelly Jam that sees two 4oz patties oozing with bacon, crunchy PB and lashing of jam, while the Sticky Icky is loaded with camembert, sauteed mushrooms, bacon, Dijon mustard and curious cola onions. If all of that sounds as delightful to you as it does to us then waste no time in getting a reservation booked and in the calendar. Middleborough, thou shalt never go without good burger again!
