Nice cosy pub with a lovely roaring fire on a very cold evening, great friendly staff and attentive landlady, good food and drink with lots to choose from. Thank you for an enjoyable night, we will be returning. LJ

Very good service by friendly enthusiastic staff but not matched by the quality of the meal. My homemade chips were poor having been reheated. My sons pork belly was tasteless and my husbands fish pie was uninspiring. But there was a roaring blaze in the woodburner and a good atmosphere so we enjoyed ourselves despite the food.

overall the food was good a couple of items not available on the menu, hair found in the food, the roaring fire was a welcome site on a cold night but the heat did become overpowering.will return

A very comfortable, welcoming atmosphere for a wet winter's evening. Good selection of pies, with choice of freshly cooked vegetables and a good choice of tasty puddings

Excellent food and friendly service. The pies are their homemade speciality and worth waiting for. This is our local pub and eatery- you’ll find lots of locals here which is always a good sign.

Excellent meal and the host was marvellous nothing was too much trouble. The atmosphere was great with a lovely log fire which was near to our table. The choice of food was very good with all tastes being catered for. Would recommend highly.

From walking into the Drum and Monkey the atmosphere is friendly staff all smiling. Would definately recommend to others. Sunday lunch was superb especially the beef.

Super country pub, so friendly and good food, home made pies a real treat. Not Gourmet but good quality with a great service, well worth a try.

The hosts were very welcoming and flexible as one of our party was late. The food was excellent and arrived reasonably quickly. We will be going back for our get together next year.

Smashing pub. Lovely friendly atmosphere. The scallops were to die for and the steak and kidney pie was great. Would recommend highly. We will definitely go there again.
