I treated my mother to lunch here, and the food was delicious. Mum said it was the best pub meal she had ever had. The staff were friendly and helpful, and we would not hesitate to eat here again.

Lovely food in a peaceful setting. Trying to eat my ice cream in the shallow 3 section bowl was interesting mind! Had to be careful it didn’t overflow whilst it was melting :D Even got to watch some New Forest ponies stop off for a drink before carrying on their journey :)

We really love this beautiful pub. The food is amazing, it’s always very clean and tidy. The waitresses are always friendly and helpful. The only reason I score this pub a 4 is because you have to order everything at the bar, which is fine, unless your halfway through dinner and would like another drink so therefor have to let your food go cold to queue. The prices are vet reasonable but the desert menu needs extending.

Been here 3 times. Good hand cooked food. Good choice on menu. Decent ales and peaceful New Forest location. Donkeys walking down road. Good for cyclists and walkers.

Lovely atmosphere and very good service. Food mostly excellent (although Home made scotch egg a little disappointing, although I’m being a bit fussy!). Horizon is a delicious hoppy bitter.

Really good food. Busy today and noisy with children and barking dogs ... it is Easter holiday still ! Food excellent. Not the fabulous service that we had last time, but will return.

As ever a fantastic roast, lovely pub, friendly staff and a cracking pint of stout!! If I had one complaint it’d be that it’s not my local pub!!! Go and enjoy.

Very nice pub, the food was great. Just a shame that most of the desserts had sold out by the time we came to order!

We enjoyed our meal at the pub. The service was friendly and good. The food was tasty and we particularly enjoyed the deserts. To finish it off the cost was very reasonable.

Great pub atmosphere, my only concern would be the lack of real English pub friendliness. Otherwise A1. Great food, fantastic wine and a good selection of beer.

Great meal, friendly pub atmosphere and our dogs were made more than welcome with free treats from the local pet shop! The menu caters for all tastes, including vegetarian and gluten free.

My parnter chose the pheasant which had no mention of nuts but when it arrived luckily he realised the stuffing inside (which wasn't mentioned on the menu) had nuts in it. The waitress did change the meal but when we were paying the bill the other bar lady blamed us for not saying rather than apologise for the lack of description on the menu. When we suggested better labelling she was arrogant and rude.

The lunch was the break point of a full days walking in the New Forest. My buddie, who is a bit of a foodie and does all the family cooking, and I really enjoyed a lovely lunch. Home made Chicken and Leek pie, accompanies by some sautéed vegetables in a light oil and some fries. The beer was great and the atmosphere very pleasant.

Great atmosphere, staff were very welcoming and the food was amazing. Sons birthday, they made a fuss of him. Sunday roast was delicious and great choice for the kids.

Young lady behind the bar was very pleasant but the place was cold not very inviting at all had to put my coat on. Fish mixed fish starter was overcooked and very crispy chicken pie still looking for the chicken although the veg was good. We won't bother going back.

Big portions and very tasty food. The atmosphere is very relaxed and the staff are friendly, and the location is lovely. Not the cheapest place but a nice treat.
