Good quality food, plenty of choice. Good value. Very attentive staff. The Service a little quicker than we expected it to be. Would go again.

Excellent food in a classy bistro style setting. Good choice with the set menu offering good value for money. We will certainly book again soon.

Tuesday lunchtime very quiet. Only one other table occupied. Had the set menu, good choice we had a hiccup with main course the veg was late coming out, took mains back to kitchen to keep warm while we waited for veg. This could be rectified if veg was plated up in kitchen.

Food was very good we had the three course Valentine special every course was delicious.Staff were very friendly and even though they were very busy the service was good.

We have eaten here a couple of times previously and were very impressed overall. This time however was disappointing. The service was good, the food was not as good as before for 2 of us. (4 of us were dining). Our main concern was that we were overcharged with several items on our bill that we had not had. The staff did rectify this without any problem when queried. We feel more attention should be given to accuracy when billing customers. No one likes to be overcharged! The table we had was next to an exit door and there was a cold draught coming through which becomes uncomfortable over time.

Amazing food and well worth going as we both enjoyed our evening. It was lovely returning to the place I used to work at seeing how things have changed. I would recommend the tables be more spread out though because it did get a little noisy the more people that arrived.

Very helpful and polite staff. Nice atmosphere in restaurant and tasty food. Good night out for couples or small groups without children. Would go there again.

Fish on both meals under cooked When we told the waitress she said the chef will have a word with the fishmonger but seeing he never cooked it what good will that do will not be returning

Lovely atmosphere, attentive, knowledgeable staff and superb food! Would definitely recommend and will be returning in the future. My only niggle was perhaps could do with a little more lighting in the conservatory.

Enjoyed the starter and pudding, main was served with nice home made chips and veg, unfortunately the steak was not great and was over cooked. Asked for med-rare and it was not pink at all.

Fresh fish. Great wine. Roaring fire. Client Hills. What more do you want? The waiting staff are amongst the friendliest I've ever had. It's fast becoming my go to restaurant. 10/10.

Great lovely food my partner is wheat and gluten intolerance they were very helpful and he really enjoyed the evening I am a vegetarian and the food was delicious our friends loved the food and restaurant we are already looking to book again

Absolutely first class and nice people. Not rushed at all although obviously very busy. Restaurant has changed since my last visit. Much more open now, not so cramped.

Excellent food and fantastic service, all at a ry reasonable price. What more could you want? This is a superb restaurant and we will definitely be back!

Excellent food and staff very attentive. The only fault I could find was that it was quite chilly in there, but would recommend it there, just wrap up in warm clothes.

Lovely atmosphere, food was excellent and there was plenty of choice on menu. Wines were on expensive side and not much choice in beers. It took 3 attempts to get bill right!! First bill only had 2 meals on. Being honest people we pointed out the error. Second bill had 8 meals on. One of our party of 6 then went and helped staff get it right by going through with them everything we had!!!!

Tasty food at a reasonable price. Pleasant efficient service. Would like even more veg. options and wider choice of beers. We look forward to going again

A little bit dis-organised on a busy lunch time. The meal was nice but could have been hotter. However the food portions were generous and well presented.

Disappointing, arrived to be told table wasn't ready. Then was told it was by another member of staff! Very cold in there even though they had got a log burner that wasn't lit!! Food was ok nothing special came to order desert they had only got two types of deserts left so didn't order any. Table had been booked 10 days prior and we was a party of 9 so you would of thought they would of been prepared!!! Had to ask three times for bill then when it came we was over charged. Staff not pleasant don't think we got a smile out of any of them. Needless to say we will not be returning which is a shame as we have been before and we really enjoyed it. It was my moms birthday so this made it even more disappointing.

Lovely restaurant, very warm and cosy atmosphere. Staff were very friendly to us and helpful concerning my Mum's dietary requirements. Food was absolutely top notch. Would definitely recommend!

Fabulous meal and service. One of the best meals I have has this year. Highly recommended. Staff friendly and efficient. All three courses were faultless.

We were a party if 6. This was our annual wedding party get together. The restaurant was very clean and tidy. The staff were very attentive from the outset, and the food was plentiful and tasty (Christmas fayre, duck, spatchcock chicken to name a few). Thank you Four Stones, we'll come again. Happy Christmas!

First time visit to the four stones. We opted for the Christmas menu and we weren't disappointed. The food was excellent. My only groan is we were seated in the conservatory which was dark and cold which was a shame because every well else looked a lot brighter. Felt like if you were a couple you got the booby prize, if you were in a group you got the better seats. This said I would definitely go back but if it was winter I would make a point of asking not to be seated in the cold conservatory.

Very impressed with our first visit to this restaurant, the food was well presented and everything was cooked to perfection. we will definitely be returning for another meal at The Four Stones.

A group of four persons dined from the Christmas and alacarte menues. The food was the best we have had in a long time. Beautiful restaurant, amazing food and great service.

We went in December and had Their Christmas Fayre menu. 4 people with 3 different starters, 3 different mains and 4 different sweets. All dishes very good and good service as well.

It's been recently refurbished and is very nice and modern whilst retaining some of the traditional features so a nice blend. Good choice on the menu and excellent, friendly service. The food was very nice and plenty of it. It was a Tuesday evening and we were the only people in so our experience would have been slightly improved if more diners had been present. However, I would certainly recommend trying this restaurant as I don't think you will be disappointed.

Nice surroundings and very pleasant and helpful staff. Good food and a nice menu. Real shame it empty and we were the only couple in.

Not so cosy as it used to be. Thelog fire should be lit early to avoid the smoke that was in the restaurant when it was lit in the evening.

Food was excellent. The Sunday lunch set menu represented very good value for money. The service was very good and was at the right speed. We were never hurried and all the food was professionally presented. This was the first time we had been since the refurb and will not hesitate to go back. The pate starter was exceptional. The Chicken and pork main courses were very good and were accompanied by a very good sized portion of vegetables. The deserts were okay but not exceptional hence why a gave a score of 5 rather than 6

Stylish modern restaurant with helpful friendly staff. Had my birthday lunch here and the food was beautiful if a little expensive, a large glass of Merlot will set you back six quid but would thoroughly recommend

Excellent food and could not be faulted in any way. The four of us had different main courses and we all cleared our plates. The service was really good and my only criticism would be that could have been warmer in there. Saying that it was very quiet, only three tables occupied so probably when busier it would not apply. Definitely would go again.

Fabulous food, lovely atmosphere, staff you only dream about! Wife had a Dover Sole, served correctly and then chef came out and offered to de-bone - and made a magnificent job, even leaving the roe intact. This restaurant is going from strength to strength. Our 3rd visit in just over a month - that speaks for itself!

Food good and service good also staff obliging when asked to change something they were only too happy to help. Had roast beef Sunday dinner meat was very good and the vegetables cooked just right

We visited Four Stones as a family, last Saturday evening. Had a lovely meal and thoroughly enjoyed the varied gin selection. The staff were brilliant and very attentive. We are looking forward to the next visit.
