Varied menu, food was delicious! Staff extremely helpful. Food took a while to arrive but there was an easy going atmosphere and pleasant surroundings so that wasn't too much of a problem.
Really nice food, decent service, good value, but air conditioning did little to nothing which meant that it was a very sweaty experience! Will definitely try again, but perhaps on a cooler evening!
Interesting atmosphere, but if you like the 60's then you'll love it. We did. Food, rustic French cuisine, well cooked, nicely presented and very enjoyable but be warned its also very filling.
Great food, friendly staff, good service. Good choice for a Father's Day lunch for a French dad. Will definitely come back. The tarte flambé was yummy, and the confit de canard was judged by our 14 year old to be the best duck he had ever tasted (and he's tasted a few!). Merci beaucoup.
The duck is delicious but probably needs a sauce as the dish was a bit dry, overall but still yummy. Also took a while even though it wasn't that busy, we waited about 30 minutes. The cocktails are great though - I recommend the Jane Birkin - v refreshing on a balmy evening. Waitress is lovely and friendly too.
Good and service superb as always. Have visited both the French House in Crystal Place and East Dulwich now. Both are really amazing. It is so nice to have French cuisine on the doorstep.
Great food, proper authentic Alsacian style. Great wine and cocktails too. Very friendly service, really good French ye-ye music. Decor is fun. Can't wait to go again. Highly recommended.
What a lovely experience we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will definitely be returning. We wish them success in the future at their new Crystal Palace restaurant.
The food was delicious (I had the quiche) and definitely worth going back for. Though the live music was nice, it was a bit hard to hear each other. Overall, a great night out.
Excellent food and superb service, will defiantly be returning. Try a get a seat by the window in the summer as they have them open so you can watch the world go by. Also listen out for a cockerel ;-)
Service was super slow, it took them nearly 1.5hrs to serve us our fondue. They brought the potatoes and had to them back as they were getting cold with no sign of the cheese fondue and no explanation. Fondue was ok but not worth the wait, I've been to the Dulwich branch before and it's not as slow as this. Also should a reataurant have a dog running around? I believe I heard it was the chef's dog.
Perfect service. Plentiful, high quality cheese and charcuterie. Delicious wine (but relatively steeply priced). Good coffee. Real pastry. Excellent ambience. I would return again to try their cooked dishes - this restaurant clearly cares about its French roots and makes it possible to enjoy a slice of France without picking up the tab of a Michelin starred restaurant. In the context of Crystal Palace, it is neither cheap nor expensive. If you're reading this review, deciding whether to visit or not, then I would recommend giving it a shot. At worst, it won't be your thing. At best, you'll have found a charming French restaurant that is admirably trying to be different. In any event, I cannot envisage being served a bad meal here. I live locally.
