Great little Indian restaurant. I went on my own and had a grill selection of meats with salad and fries. Also naan and side rice. Thoroughly enjoyed
The food was accurately done by the traditional recepies. Its something you dont see every day.
won't go anywhere else. great friendly staff and great food. 👍
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal, we had starters and a main meal which was lovely and hot, drinks and Tia Marie coffee's and the price was very reasonable. We had not been to the gate of India for a few years and thought it's not going to be the same, its bound to have changed, but we were wrong it was just as nice and would definately go back. Very nice and friendly staff.
Extremely disappointing chicken used not fresh in my opinion. Have used restaurant for 40+ years probably poorest meal had!
Being going here for special occasions and family get togethers for years now and I cannot fault them . The staff are lovely and friendly and we always enjoy our meals and most of all it’s great for money. They do a Thursday special for £12.95 which entails of a complimentary glass of wine or soft drink , a starter, a main , a pudding and a coffee. What more could you ask for !!! In all the years we’ve never had a bad meal it’s always been delicious. If you’ve never been you should go 😁
Not a great dining experience. Service poor and restaurant in need of updating. Not enough staff and, worryingly, a lot of flies in the dining room.
Very good and will visit again. Good value for money.
Excellent in all areas. Very impressed. Clean, fresh and great service
Lovely meal no waiting around friendly service. great food. would recommend.
Cracked NG food, authentic and perfect. Portions are great but staff were amazing
Lovely food as always and a good value Thursday evening special menu. Great restaurant.
Once again excellent food and customer service. Food cooked to our requirements and price was real good.
A dead spider on the food! A very abrupt server. No compensation offered. Won’t be going back again!
We didn’t even get seated, after another two parties of people left due to the poor attitude of the staff. Go somewhere else it’s not worth it.
Had a great time, would go again, food was great
Obviously a very good chef. Great value for money. Only thing that lets this great experience down is the dated furnishings and tableware.
First visit, food/service very good. We will go back soon.
Prices and food okay friendly helpful staff prompt service. Good choice of dishes on the menu. Restaurant decore and interior very worn and tired not the cleanest looking.
great food and lovely restaurant. busy new years eve but was still a nice chilled out experience and they have been going for years. 4 of us fed and watered for 80 quid cannot be bad
Food quality excellent, staff friendly, restaurant in need of some TLC feeling a bit dated. Would definitely recommend this restaurant, I have been a customer for 36 years approximately, and the food standard has always been very good.
Excellent service and great food at a very reasonable price. Seated swiftly and drinks order taken. No long waits for food service, everything on time and as expected.
Excellent food excellent service would recommend found parking easy reserved my table online and got what i requested overall a very good nite also very reasonable
Excellent.Meal and service were exceptional.Me an my guest were shown to ouf comfortable window seat immediately. Our drinkxs were refreshing and well chilled.I would recommend The Gate of India to anyone.
Service very good but good just average. Quite noisy as there were some large parties in.
Great service excellent help desk and rapid response when needed .. ....... .. . . . . . . . . . . . . .
It's been a long time since we have dined here and we weren't disappointed. We were well looked after by friendly attentive staff. Food was amazing. Definitely recommend.
Food was really nice, after we had to request part of our order be brought to us, as it had been forgotten. Waitress/server was rather abrupt and downright miserable, but it didn't spoil our night.
The best Indian food in the north east. Very friendly staff, we have been 6 times now and it keeps getting better. The nan bread is amazing
Not a very warm welcome and was shown to a table for 4 although we were 2 and there were free 2 tables, food and service very good
The service was good and the food was very nice. I really enjoyed my chicken biryani! Choice of desserts is limited to different Ice creams or banana split, but they were tasty. We will be going back for sure.
Disappointing. Service good and staff pleasant. Think we perhaps made made poor menu choices.
A new years eve visit to the gate of india and another night of great food and great service. I have been going to thus restaurant for over 30 years, we were a party of four having starters, mains ice cream for two and coffee for two, everything proved to be first class and the service was good. I would highly recommend a visit.
Expected to find the restaurant buzzing as it had been on previous New Year’s Eve’s in the past but it was rather quiet and not even half full so really had little atmosphere. Seated quickly and the food arrived very soon after, overall it was tasty but nothing to get excited about.
There were six of us and the restaurant was busy - service was quick and excellent, food was outstanding. We all ordered different dishes and they were all gorgeous. We have been many times over the years, never had a bad meal.
This was our first visit but certainly not our last. Excellent food and very friendly staff. Overall came away very satisfied with the whole experience.
Had a family night out and had a brilliant night !! The staff were very friendly and eager to help , we had a good laugh with them . The food was fabulous and plenty of it . We had the Thursday night special and was great value . Would recommend The gate of India to everyone
A warm welcome, we were seated quickly and service was very friendly and efficient. The food was really tasty, English and Indian dishes. We would particularly recommend the lamb Chom Chom - a fantastic flavourful dish.
Beautiful food and fast service. Very pleasant staff as well and good atmosphere. Tynemouth is a lovely location too and they have plenty of competition. Recommend.
Excellent value mealing on a Saturday lunchtime. Good food and service. Enjoyed a chicken dish, really tasty. My wife enjoyed a beef dish. Will return
