Restaurant was very busy that night (bank holiday weekend) but the staff looked after you very well and there was no compromise on the quality of the food, absolutely delicious.
we have been to the restaurant on numerous occasions before but thought we would try something different for Mother's day. The food was excellent, great value, great service and looking forward to our next visit.
Food was excellent as always. Service was a little tardy, starters took an hour to come out, they started clearing plates before everyone had finished eating and even after it was pointed out they still continued to clear. But the food is the best around so makes up for it.
The food was fantastic everyone thoroughly enjoyed there meal and the service was excellent we couldn't fault anything. I would recommend the gate of India to anyone
Very good service which provided a good atmosphere, the quality of the food was excellent, the prices were very good value for mint I will return
My wife and I visited on Valentine's Day and were seated in one of the booth's, a nice little touch we thought. Service was excellent, prompt and not pushy at all. The food was excellent quality and very tasty. Portion sizes were very good. The house wine was better than most restaurant house wines. The bill at the end was very reasonable. We have been to this restaurant a few times now and each visit never fails to please us. We will certainly be back there again very soon.
The service was great. Very friendly and attentive staff who didnt pressure us into being quick. The food was beautiful and I would definitely go back.
First time here and will be back. Food was amazing, staff very friendly and atmosphere lvly. Would highly reccomend. Was nade to feel welcome and never rushed.
Food was great although the customer service was very slow. Waited 20 minutes to get the bill. Also saw a waitress just flip over the table cloth on the table next to me rather than getting a new one, pretty unhygienic.
We thought the food was excellent, the staff polite and attentive. Everything was hot and served in good time from placing the order .Would recommend
Staff were rude and not very helpful. Food was nothing to write home about. Heard a member of the staff comment on me whilst leaving the restaurant!! The cheek! Will not return!
It's a good few years since i ate here. The food was as lovely now as it was then. The waiting staff were very polite. The only downside was the price of the wine. Over £5 for a large glass! I would definitely go again though
Delicious food and wonderful service, would definitely recommend. Our starters included onion bhaji and chicken samosas, both were delicious, our mains were chicken korma and a chicken jalfrezi, again both delicious.
Lovely meal and Venu. Would visit again with out a doubt. Plenty of meat in currys and a wonderful Irish coffee to finish with. Really can't fault it. Tynemouth is becoming the curry hub of the coast.
Friendly staff, very quick meal preparation, nice atmosphere. This place would be good for couples, groups, or also I imagine families. Good location for an evening stroll by the sea to work off those calories! Online booking via the restaurant website was ideal.
Superb food/drink and superb service. We ate the lamb vindaloo and the chicken vindaloo. Both of the meats were beautifully tender. My favourite Indian restaurant in the North East.
Four of us visited 10th June 2016. We ordered a variety of starters alk delicious and well presented. Main courses arrived after a short time and the flavours of all of the food were outstanding. Only one person ordered a desert which was very much enjoyed. We had two coffees and left the restaurant feeling content and that the food was good value for money and the service we received was first class. Very friendly staff and most helpful. I first visited this restaurant 33 year's ago, different staff now, it just keeps on getting better.:-)
Imate at the Gate of India twice in one week. On each occasion the service was very good and the food was delicious. My friends and I will definitely eat at this restaurant again in the future. My sister, who lives in Houston, has made a tradition of having a curry here on the night of her arrival when she returns to UK for a visit.
Very fine Indian food and very clean and friendly place. Staff very accommodating and helpful about food choice. I high recommend it and I will be back soon for sure.
Always reliable Been going for years and the place does what it says on the tin as it were Try it yourself it's a good place
Always great food with friendly service. The ceylonese is always exceptional. This place is always busy regardless of the day of the week. My favourite Indian restaurant in the area
Service was fine and as were staff. Though the food wasn't that good. Dishes with sauce had lots of it and the Masala dish was more Orange coloured rather than a deep read. Some of the starters were poor and a little over cooked
Excellent food, good polite service, reasonable prices. We come here often and the food is consistently wonderful! The only problem is parking in Tynemouth - be prepared to park a distance away from the restaurant and walk!
