Very high quality good food with freshly cooked imaginative menu . Service excellent with charming , attentive staff ( special mention to Keith who entertained with his great sense of humour and very helpful when asked to advise on menu specials). A lovely experience, highly recommend this restaurant.

Superb choice of menu and very tasty food. The waiter/manager? Was so friendly and chatty and really made you feel welcome. Only downside we had was we were sat near the back door so was quite cold every time someone went in/out.

My wife came in for a Sunday evening roast. Had chipolatas for a light starter and then we had a turkey and a lamb roast. Food was lovely and hot, service was good , anll staff were very nice, good atmosphere.

Not as good as previous visits - went for Sunday lunch. One staff member helpful in finding us a table as we arrived early ( her colleague just told us we’d have to wait), so appreciated her proactive manner. Lamb was tough - told staff who asked if all was well - no action taken. And our green vegetables weren’t served, but another helpful mos sorted that for us. Overall, it was ok, but slightly disappointing compared with previous experiences

Good menu, good food (generous portions) good service, good prices. Four of us had various Sunday roasts and deserts. Recommended.

We have been to The Horse and Farrier several times and it never disappoints. Great selection of food and very swift and friendly service. The olde worldy pub atmosphere is delightful too. We'll be back!

We have been before and found it amazing ,not so this time I'm afraid to say ,everyone was pleasant and the food came quickly ,but not to the standard it used to be .Also if you book on line ,I would let them know that you have dogs even though it's a dog friendly pub ,dogs aren't aloud in certain areas .

Need to book but well worth a visit, great food and nice atmosphere. Sunday roast was fab.

First course service and food great but no response when waiting for sweet menu or to order. Gave up and when asked how it had been when paying mentioned the slow service and got a totally frosty response.

We were there for an anniversary dinner, but it wasn’t a positive experience. We had to ask how to get seated and then were left for about 15 minutes while others who came in after us had drinks and meal orders taken. My husband finally went to the bar to order drinks and they came eventually. After over 25 minutes we decided that this wasn’t a nice experience and went to the bar, paid for our drinks and left. We went to a nice restaurant elsewhere and enjoyed our anniversary celebration.

Fantastic meal, excellent service, lovely choice of meals. The gentleman waiter was attentive and informative.

Good food..the fish pie was loaded with fish and love the cheesy mash on top.. Generous portions too.. Had bread & butter pudding which was fabulous.

We visited Sunday evening and our table was right under a constantly flickering very bright light which was very annoying. When mentioned to the guy waiting on he said itcwas the circuit and nothing could be done about other than turn all the lights out! No offer to move tables!!!
