Meal for two late reservation and what a find! My partner had the Calamari to start and the Scampi mains and I had the soup of the day and Curry of the day. Wow, so tasty, flavoursome, piping hot and amazingly fast service and all the staff were superb, thoroughly recommend and we will be back! Well done all

Absolutely fantastic Sunday roast dinner. Probably one of the best I've ever had. Only one slight criticism would be to use fresh strawberries in the Eton mess, because I had to take out 3 huge frozen ones as they didn't taste very nice (frozen strawberries have a weird texture and taste. Slimy and bitter). Apart from that one little niggle, everything was lovely and we might visit again before we leave to go back home.

Generally speaking it was a good experience with generous quantities at a good price. However, my main dish, liver ( great to see it in the menu) was over cooked which meant it was slightly too hard with no soft pink in the middle.

We’ve dined here many times. Friendly staff and pleasant environment and usually good food, but today the food was not up to the usual standard. We both had roast beef. The beef was pre carved, dry and chewy. The roast potatoes were past their best, over cooked. Great shame.

Lunch arrived very quickly after ordering which is probably why my pie and mash were not v hot and the batter on my husbands fish was soggy.Very disappointing will not eat there again although would still drop in for a drink.

The person who was taking the orders was constantly asking if we were ready to order and literally ask 30 seconds after we sat down. Was quite rude when one of our party asked if something on the menu was Gluten free and his reply was that the larger on the table wasn't Gluten free which wasn't the person's drink. Apart from that the food was very nice and rest of the staff were great. Lovely location great beer garden.

Lovely staff, very pleasant but I thought the food was overpriced. The fish was nice a bit greasy, but for £18.95 I would expect potato cut chips. Not frozen. My husband enjoyed his curry. I wouldn’t rush back.

Pre-booked table 1 month ago for 1pm. Walked from Keswick to Threlkeld & had lunch. Great pub. We both had Steak, Mushroom & Ale Pie (puff pastry top) with chunky chips & assorted veg. Lovely lunch, no complaints & service was great too. Wld definitely return.
