First visit .Whole group very pleased with experience. Would recommend.
Have been going here for 20+ years, will not be going back !!!
Lovely evening with my husband, brother and wife for birthday meal
A very enjoyable experience for all the family. Thank you very much.
Sat next to door which was constantly open and very cold, initial service very good and quick but after waiting ages had to go to bar to order food. 90% of food was good however panna cotta was terrible I’d go as far as suggesting to take it off the menu until chef can make them (sorry but not good) Overall though decent visit
Great atmosphere, beer and food. Good service. will definitely return
Always eat here when we visit threlkeld, we have dogs so seating is limited inside. Lovely food but a bit pricey if your on a budget.
Wonderful Sunday roast in a beautiful setting and attentive staff.
Excellent food, it’s a pitty the service was rather slow!
Fantastic staff and service. Incredible food. Thank you everyone a lot
Nice location, lovely pub, very good food - look forward to a return visit 👍😊
Fantastic place to eat food great great atmosphere highly recommended
Good food and comfy seats! My fish and chip was really good. The fish was in a light and crispy batter and the chips were just the way I like them, not too thin and crispy. The only room for improvement would be to have more vegan options. If you're looking for traditional pub fayre, this restaurant does that well!
Christmas Eve excellent food and service. a very good pint of their own bitter Sharp Edge wish it was available at home.
Had Sunday Roast today, mixed meats, never seen so much meat before, nice fresh vegetables, roast potatoes and yorkshire puddings were lovely. Great service and pleasant surroundings. Couldn't ask for more. Will definitely be back.
Always good. Great menu and surroundings . Will go again.
Lovely food. With Good staff. A lovely pre xmas meal
The only problem we had was that the room we were in was freezing, as we had pre booked the table I would have expected the heating to be on ready for us. It was only 1 degree outside & we had to sit with our coats on for the first half hour
Staff very friendly even brought sample of beer to try. We all had different dishes but all were delicious. We are on holiday but always visit the Horse and Farrier when staying in Braithwaite.
Had a couple of meals here before but first time for my dinner companions. All in agreement that it’s good food, cosy and comfortable atmosphere, and great service. Think it will become one of our regular places to eat.
We booked a table of 10 - food excellent and very cosy
Fantastic food and service however chose not to stay for a pudding as the noise levels from the family on the table next to us was unbearable. Unfortunately spoilt a very nice meal.
Lovely Friday evening meal. Could not fault the service or the food. Amazing sized portions. Excellent all round. Definitely recommend the Horse and Farrier to friends and family.
Holidaying from Scotland in the local area, we Decided to visit Horse and Farrier after a busy day in Keswick , we had popped in to see the place earlier that day and were given the advice to book as they can get busy. They are dog friendly and happily accepted our cocker spaniel and even had a biscuit for him! I Booked for 6pm table for two next to the fire, what a treat and we are so glad that we booked. The pub is traditional with friendly staff and superb food! My partner had the veggie Chilli which was a large portion with rice , salad and flat bread and was clearly home made and resulted in a clean plate! I had a soup to start which was again home made and delicious, for my main I had slow braised shoulder of local Herdswick lamb on mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables, this was tremendous tasty and cooked to perfection! I could not fault anything about our meal or service. This type of pub is sadly lacking in Scotland and one of the reasons we like to come. Thanks guys for a memorable and delicious experience.
Excellent food, great atmosphere and attentive staff - a sumptuous Sunday afternoon lunch just perfect!!
Awesome food, bit of a wait for food but it was busy and we were informed of the wait when we arrived, very friendly and helpful staff.
Excellent food with excellent service to match. A very friendly experience.
The ambience was very relaxing, our waitress was very friendly and the meal was delicious.
lovely pub and the best sunday lunch in the area
As always, the food and hospitality was excellent. Thank you.
Fabulous food, great service and lovely atmosphere. We will definitely be visiting again.
The food was ok and it was pretty cold inside, would have liked it to be warmer and cosier.
surrounding atmosphere fantastic 21 pounds 3 fantastic course s great value great food
Good food, nice service, made to feel very welcome. Thank you
Fantastic food fantastic service lovely place ,will go back !
Extensive menu with a wide choice. Staff are helpful and polite. Food is cooked as requested and nicely presented. Booking is strongly recommended as this pub is very busy.
We were at the Horse and Farrier to celebrate my Mums 60th birthday. The staff were very friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was tasty and the only minor complaint (if you can call it a complaint!) was in relation to the chorizo and prawn starter which seemed quite small compared to the rest of the food we ordered. I would recommend to anyone as the food was tasty and the service was excellent!
Lovely food, friendly staff. Busy place for a Friday lunch time!
Everything was beautiful. From stepping out into the car park with the views to the service and friendly staff. The food was spot on also.
Delicious food but very busy so some dishes sold out and service a little slow
