Food was amazing, as always. The only thing I think would make it better is if the menu was more inclusive for people with food allergies. Including meals and certainly desserts for those of us who can’t have gluten AND dairy!!

Been visiting The Horse and Farrier at Threlkeld ever since we first discovered it 2016 whilst holidaying in the Lake District. Never disappointed, the staff are all friendly and welcoming, the food is always excellent and the ambience in this old inn is a joy.

Table service was quick and polite, unfortunately the young chap who brought the meals just placed them anywhere without asking whose was whose. Rude. Didn’t come and ask if we need anything or how the food was. Felt unwelcome.

Superb meal, Keith who greeted us was possibly the nicest man I’ve ever met!!! What a wonderful man, couldn’t fault the place, definitely recommend and will be returning again, thanks to Keith!!!

Nice place for a Sunday lunch. The staff were friendly and helpful. My only criticism would be that the lunch was very large. I think less mash and mashed suede then as a customer you might have room to try dessert which sounded lovely.

An excellent evening, great, friendly service and restaurant-quality food. At £10.30 a glass the wine was somewhat expensive but didn't spoil the experience.

Food was good and enjoyable but way overpriced for what you get. The items I would ordinarily choose from the menu is way too expensive, glass of wine £6.00, ridiculous.

The braised beef I had was delicious but the beef was chewy considering it was braised. Our party of 4 was impressed by the quality of the vegetables served with the meals. At times it was difficult to attract the attention of staff who were then helpful, informative and friendly. We enjoyed our food and were very comfortable at the table allocated.

A very lovely place with superb, delicious food. The staff are amazing and there's a lovely atmosphere. Although our table was in a corner close to the bar area (and next to the cutlery station) we didn't find it too noisy at all and we still had enough lighting at our table. We will be back next year when we are next in the area to sample more delicious food.

The Horse and Farrier never disappoints, the staff are so attentive and love to chat and give my lab biscuits. Food amazing as always. Sunday lunches fantastic and we just love returning to the Lakes and including the Horse and Farrier as part of our trips

We return each time we come up to the Lakes for the excellent Sunday lunch. Served quickly, piping hot with a good selection of vegetables. Can recommend and will be back.

Good food in a friendly welcoming pub, attentive staff and swift service all in beautiful Threlkeld. What's not to love? Good sized portions, great beers and wines. One of my favourite pubs.

Great food, amazing staff there was a small issue with a item on the bill but this was rectified immediately and without fuss. Very good customer care.
