The food was great and the server was friendly. We will be back
Unfortunately the roast was finished when we visited but the food was excellent.
Fantastic food & service. If you go here for Sunday Lunch don’t have any breakfast. Huge, quality portions. Nice pub. Dog friendly.
This is our second visit and both times food and service is really good very friendly staff and we didn’t wait long for our food although it was full definitely make another visit
Great food, huge portions, great service, very pleasant surroundings of typical Lake District eaterie.
Such a beautiful setting to enjoy delicious food (best roast I've had in a long time!). The service was excellent - staff were fantastic and really attentive. Would definitely recommend

Evening meal was very good and the staff were very friendly
Excellent service, food and dining experience. Very attentive and humorous waiter, aka Paul Daniels.
Smashing staff lovely food, what more could you ask for 😊
We visit the H7F every time we go to the Lakes because it always provides good value combined with good quality. Will be back next year.
Setting beautiful. Accommodated change to sitting outside. Lovely staff. Efficient and Pet friendly. Food great.
All of us (including the dog) were made very welcome and the food was excellent.
Return visit with friends. All enjoyed our meals. Will be back again.
Inn was really busy but customer service could not be faulted. However Sunday roast was Ok - too much food on the plate, especially potatoes roast and mash. I like my beef less well done too.
Excellent as always. Roast up to normal standard but my wife had the seabass which was spectacular,,,,,
Fab food and friendly service If we lived nearer this would become a regular haunt for us
Great food & atmosphere. Nice friendly staff and quick service.
absolutely amazing! great food, great service especially the (sorry) older gentleman. i requested a quiet table off to the side because of my social anxiety and we were accommodated perfectly. the food was excellent & the atmosphere was fantastic! will 100% be back again for dates nights in the future
Great food with friendly staff. Would definitely recommend. Good choice of food. Wine and beer great too.
Staying for 2 nights in a very comfortable room. Meal was great would recommend the lamb shank great device. Pubis fabulous with very friendly attentive staff and a lovely beer garden.
Nice evening, good service and great food.will go back again
Excellent food. The fish pie was even better than my home-made! The gammon was a very generous portion and also very tasty. We shared a platter of puddings and they were all lovely. Service was attentive yet friendly. One of our favourite places to eat in this part of the Lakes.
Very nice food and good service. I would highly recommend
Excellent food and service. Reckon mend the pan fried sea bass
An excellent and enjoyable family meal. Great choices from an extensive menu with really good service.
We booked a table in advance and got seated quickly. A waiter came after about 30 seconds to see if we were ready to order. We didn’t even get offered a drink. We told the waiter my wife had some food allergies which quickly caused chaos and he ran off to see the chef. He came back shortly afterwards to say none of the food was suitable. She’s allergic to nuts and fish but even the roast dinner contains nuts apparently!???The staff were rude and did not care that we left without eating. Never again
Sunday dinner was delicious though would have preferred vegetables to be served separately
Very nice traditional pub food home cooked. The deserts were excellent too.
The food and service is always excellent. Lovely atmosphere and my favourite place to visit
Lovely warm welcome and great homemade food! Enjoyed by all!
Good friendly service and good size portions. Would dine there again
A lovely sunday roast in a nice atmosphere with great staff. Highly recommended
First visit for Sunday lunch and did not disappoint. Beef was excellent together with a good vegetable selection and mixture of potatoes, roast and mash, lovely Garvey too. Will certainly come back for seconds!!! Service was also polite and just attentive.
Staff were amazing, room was excellent & food was great
Table booked online quickly and easily. Friendly staff and delicious food
Very good food and service, only negative ,seating could be more comfortable Thank you .
First disappointing experience in the 20 years of visiting the Horse and Farrier! Food poor quality (starter and main) and didn't find the waiting staff very helpful.
Great catch up with friends in a central location for everyone. Nice food, surroundings and service.
We have been regular customers for over 25 years and would not go anywhere else for our Sunday lunch when on holiday in the Keswick area David , Northumberland
Excellent meal. Good value for money. Excellent friendly service and ambiance
Excellent 👍 will definitely come again, all very impressive 😁
Family meal. All had a good time. Vey good beer selection
Lovely Sunday lunch great service and location , plenty of menu choice
Delicious Sunday roast, big portions, great service Good place to stop off en route yo Keswick
Sunday dinner is always my favourite at this pub! I have to say though desserts are getting a little bit pricey for what they are … £7.95 for a pudding seems a bit excessive.
Great service Great atmosphere And most of all Great food
