Very good all round. The food was excellent and the service was great. The pub was packed which I expected but that didn't spoil the atmosphere and the staff were friendly and helpful. I will definitely be visiting next time I'm in the lakes. Just to add that I stayed there for 3 nights and the accommodation was spot on as well.

Fantastic. Having been to the Horse and Farrier several times in the past I was very impressed with the improvements made. It has been extended to a very high standard but retained the character of the building. The food and service was excellent.

Poor drinks. Beer pipes not cleaned properly/run through. Spritzer not right. Another table had to send coke back. When beer reported bad would have expected replacement drink to be FOC not being charged for the beer & the replacement, and have to point it out. |Food can't be faulted.

Could not fault our meal yesterday (Sunday 28th July) at the horse and farrier We had a few requirements with our food. All came how we asked. Portion sizes were huge, polite friendly staff. When asked a member of staff a question over the puddings, she knew the answer straight away, didn’t have to go and find out. I would defiantly recommend the roast beef dinner.
