This was our second visit, after reading excellent reviews on trip adviser we were pleased to have found such a lovely little gem in the center of Lincoln, booked online this time which was quick and easy, welcoming staff and excellent food, ( my favorite the Stilton steak salad with a side bucket of chips is scrummy really tasty! ) we shall defiantly be eating here on our future visits to the city!

Wrong food arrived and was taken back but when ours did arrive it could have been a tad warmer but as there were 6 of us and we had waited a while we ate it anyway

The venue was very relaxing, the staff fine but 3 of us who had the fish pie had a job finding the fish amongst a plateful of mashed potato and very few veg.

Great central location, warm friend ly welcome from the staff, nice atmosphere, good menu choice but felt the starters choice could be better, didn't bother with starters as nobody in our party fancied what was on offer. Everyone enjoyed the main courses and puddings, nice touch from the waitress on hearing it was my daughters birthday she bought her pudding out with a candle and the plate decorated, a good all round experience at the Horse and Groom.

Lovely food and friendly staff, nice atmosphere, we all had an enjoyable evening. How ever I am now forced to write a minimum of twenty five words which I did not feel was necessary!

Good service, we had a small child with us and crayons and colouring book were brought out to keep her amused. Can't fault the service at all. Starters where large and well presented. Not too long to wait in between courses. Main courses were well presented and well cooked. Cannot fault at all. Would recommend to friends without hesitation.

Food and service good but very pricey for what you get. £11.95 for roast beef - meat was ok but nothing special, nice Yorkshire pud, 2-3 roast potatoes and veg underneath. Nice but could get same or better at carvery for less money. Not up to same standard as their evening meals

Had a delicious meal, wonderfully cooked and beautifully served by some very friendly waitresses. When I mentioned wage warm brownie was cold the bill was reduced by 10%, cannot fault it, and will eat there again next time we visit Lincoln.

Excellent food and lovely ambience. Staff all very friendly and very accomodating for families. Children's portions are excellent and wide ranging from specific kids meals to smaller portions of adult meals from the menu. Overall a super place to eat and relax!

I had been here for lunch with I enjoyed and the food had been recommended by 2 collegues so, I was keen to take my partner for an evening meal. We both had the same starter - the pate, which was tasty but one had a salad with spring onions and radishes one just green leaves. The mains were disappointing the salmon fish cakes just came with green leaves (again) the extra chips came in a rusty little bucket. My pork in cider was over cooked, the pork had a bit too much fat and grisly but was served not hot, not warm but cold which was a shame as dish was tasty, the celeriac and jus/gravy were very good. The desserts we had, were the cheese cake and cheese board which were both good. Overall, I left disappointed with the very limited menu and poor attention to detail and don't think I'll go back.

Very impressed, shared the bread and olives starter, plenty for two. My Steak was excellent, well cooked and great taste, my companion had the liver, the empty plate confirmed it was good too. pleasant staff and good service. And price was reasonable. Will certainly return

Lovely staff. Waited a while for our food and my shank was a bit dry and overcooked but wasn't disastrously bad; I would still go back.

Absolutely brilliant experience. Booked the Horse and Groom table on line as my colleagues and I fancied a change from hotel food whilst we were working in Lincoln. It was a warm welcome by the waitress with displaying my name on the table which was a nice touch. Service and food was exceptional. Menu had a good selection for all of our tastes. Definitely will visit again when we return to this lovely city.

Our first visit was very disappointing. Very busy on Saturday night and bookings are definately needed. Menu selection was varied. We had to waited nearly an hour for our main course, we don't have starters. We had blasts of cold air everytime anyone used the door to the outside. When my food did arrive it was burnt. My husbands was satisfactory. I complained to the staff and was immediately offered a replacement meal or an alternative. The manageress came and apologised for the meal and cancelled our bill. We have been given a voucher for a fee meal next time and we will visit again but not on a Saturday night

Sunday roast. It was not its usual standard today unfortunately. It wasn't hot enough & was a little dry. Service was, as always excellent. We will go back as I'm sure it was just a one off average meal

Very friendly staff, excellent meal, would definitely eat here again. The music could have been slightly quieter as it was hard to hear the other end of the table and the washbasin taps in the ladies need attention, but we enjoyed our evening nonetheless.

Excellent food a wonderful waiting staff. We had to wait 40 minutes for our food as there was a large party of around 20 in so it was to be expected really.

Fabulous Sunday lunch. Although the starter and main course were delicious I would quite happily have skipped them in favour of the absolutely divine salted caramel tart. There are no words to describe just how magnificent it tastes!!!!

Really nice pub restaurant in good location near centre of Lincoln with added bonus of a car park. Friendly staff serving excellent food with a good range of ales and lagers. Wine starting at £16 bottle bit expensive. Clean and well presented interior. Highly recommend a visit, but is popular so better to pre-book.
