Nice food but the mash was smash and the roasties tasted burnt plus no onion gravy?!! Has it changed hands recently? Pudding was lovely

Carvery was superb wish there was a better selection for vegetarians as only two on the menu.

we booked a table in advance on a Monday evening . could not fault the service or the meal. being a Monday we took advantage of the half price offer but after eating my hubby and I both agreed we would have quite willingly paid full price .would fully recommend to anyone.well done !

Excellent carvery. Many choices of veg and 4 types of potatoes!!! staff friendly and attentive. definately will return!! highly recommend.

Yery uncomfortable on table 9 cramped and draughty by door. As we booked on line we had no choice of table.

Plenty of choice for the carvery and the food was hot. Bit of a queue but didn’t take too long to clear

The food was beautiful and the staff are very friendly! The only downside was that we were not allowed to order a child's carvery for mum who for heath reasons is not able to eat very much. The staff were very apologetic and explained that it was because others had abused it so the manager had put his foot down, but it would be helpful for people like my mum if staff could use their discretion.

It was great! It was on a Monday, which is half price night 17.00-21.00. It was very busy but not a problem, we were told that it would be a 20 minute wait for food, not a problem at all as they had told us. Staff were so busy but were so friendly and happy and looked like they enjoyed their jobs. Really well worth a visit we will be returning again very soon.

The selection of vegetables for those having the carvery was excellent.

Tgere are more desserts than main courses available, tgere should be an alternative to chips offered. It would be better if you could choose salad or fresh vegetables. The mixed grill was overcooked, my husband coukdnt eat the steak. Cheap and cheerful, if you dont mind leaving half your food.

Such a pleasure to visit, staff were so lovely and friendly. Lovely atmosphere and decor. Bouncy castle for the kids too. And kids ate for free !

We had the carvery. It was absolutely delicious. There was so many different vegetables to choose from. The meat melted in your mouth. There were 4 different types of potatoes, roasts, mash, boiled and dauphinois! Definitely be going back!!

The mixed grill was disappointing Wish I had gone for the carvery instead. Meat was chewy and fatty. Sausage was very cheap quality & mushy. Mushrooms tasted off. Egg peas & chips were nice. No one visited the table to enquire about the food either.

Just a couple of minor things ....a Continental breakfast option would be good and also the provision of side plates for toast etc. Cooked food excellent value for money and a good selection.

Excellent carvery as usual. Really good choice of meats and plenty of vegetables including dauphinoise potatoes and cauliflower cheese which aren't offered at many carverys.

What a delightful pub, the food was lovely and great value for money. The staff were friendly and very welcoming.

Visited on a Monday when they do their half price offer. We both had a mixed grill for £6.50. The food came out piping hot (just how I like it) with minimal waiting. Every item was cooked to perfection, steak really nice and tender and had a lovely grilled flavour. The portion size was really good also so you did not get a smaller portion as it was on offer. We do eat quite regularly at The Island Pool but may take advantage of this Monday offer on more occasions. Thoroughly recommended.

Great atmosphere as soon as you enter, friendly efficient staff always give a welcome. The tables are well spaced so you can have a private conversation without other tables hearing you. Food was very good as always, a great Date Night Monday

Very busy but ti be expected on Sunday afternoon the food was delicious definitely recommend
