A very good meal at a very reasonable price. Didn’t have the carvery this time but that looked good too.

We arrived to a really bad sewerage smell in car park which isn't good when you are going for a meal a bit of a put off to say the least. Then we were asked to wait when we had booked a table. They set a table up as though they had over booked because of a few party's they had there going on. Our table was seated right in the middle were everyone was queuing for carvery so not good with everyone standing by you while eating and listening to conversation while eating no privacy. Don't think we will return again very disappointed. Food was edible but not that enjoyable and very skimpy on meat think because they were busy portion size was cut down.

Super busy as it was Sunday. But as always the food was wonderful.

Very busy. It always pays to book on a Monday. Meals not up to usual standard. Steak was very fatty and the fish was mainly inedible batter. Will stick with the reliable carvery in future.

They had ran out of cauliflower cheese, but we're very prompt in sorting. However, we had booked a table for 7 & were placed right by where everyone queued for the carvary. It was a little off putting, when people are staring at you while you're eating.

We really enjoyed the carvery,we have been quite a few times and it has never disappointed.The staff are always very helpful and polite.

Was a fairly quiet time when we arrived. We were seated quickly at a nicely located table. The selection of vegetables and the quality of the carvery was up to the usual high standards we've come to expect at the Island Pool, which is why we visit as regularly as we do.

Our ordered food didn't arrive for us all at the same time, we asked for salt as there wasn't any, they never brought it we had to go and get other sauces too. Then we found that one of the steaks not as ordered then all of the mushrooms on the four plates were woefully past their best and they tasted musty and off! One of the sirloin steaks looked more like a rump steak. All of these things spoilt our meal making it a throughley disappointing experience that we are reluctant to repeat again in a hurry!!☹️

From when we walked in the door until we left the service, food, beer , was fantastic came here 2 months ago when my sisters from Bewdley invited us and had a great lunch , so as it was our 40th anniversary today we wanted to have a meal at the island pool well worth the 60 mile round trip will see you again soon . many thanks Pete Fletcher

We booked a table for 8 on a Sunday lunchtime for my father in laws birthday, we were hoping to order a mix of carveries and off the main menu but only carvery was available, it does not state this anywhere on the website, so this was a little disappointing, our table was in a cramped little area away from the main dining area, the tables had seen better days and it lacked atmosphere, food was ok, (broccoli had seen better days) but there was a good selection of veg, the service was good and the price was reasonable, as the saying goes, you get what you pay for

One of our party was on crutches- the staff were most attentive, carrying food to the table etc.

Haven't visited for some years but was very impressed and will most certainly return in the future.

The chef serving the food was abrupt not very friendly the beef was a cheap cut very stringy no atmosphere at all

Lovely carvery. good idea to pre book as it gets busy but have turned up before without booking and managed to get table for 2 think it's good idea to book if there's bigger party
