Good food reasonable atmosphere, will definitely go back. Easy to get there by bus.

Thoroughly enjoyed my meal at the Jolly the relaxing atmosphere made for an pleasant afternoon ,the food was well prepared hot and tasty the staff were on hand for our orders and drinks when needed ,nothing was rushed or to much bother. It wont be long until I visit the Jolly again I enjoyed it that much Vito has this restaurant lark down to a fine art, the 2 hours just flew bye.

Staff very friendly and the food was lovely! My mum could not decide what she wanted and when her dinner came they had given her a ‘taste’ of the lasagna on her plate

We arrived for a 7.00pm booking. The restaurant was packed solid, and the noise level was on a higher decibel range. What Jolly’s has is an authentic Italian restaurant atmosphere. The service is friendly, and relaxed, the food is flavoursome. If what you want from your dining experience is a homogeneous, banal franchised, restaurant experience, don’t book Jolly’s. If you want an authentic, Italian,family based,Italian experience then this is the restaurant to book while in Edinburgh

Having moved away from Edinburgh 20 odd years ago, I always had fond memories of this restaurant. It was a wee treat for me when my parents took me to The Jolly when I was a child. The food was amazing and the place looked just like how I remembered. I even got a lollipop at the end! I highly recommend this restaurant. Great value, great food, friendly atmosphere.

The owner was really nice and was constantly monitoring everything that was happening. He joined in with his staff to do everything and made sure that people were enjoying their food and enjoying themselves. He really impressed me and my husband.

When we arrived the place was really busy and I think they may have gave our table away the greeter was very rude and started making a show of me when I said we had booked a table for seven for four people he was very nasty and said you said seven people the conversation went down hill from there and we left would never go back

Although the interior is a bit dated please do not let this put you off as the food is excellent value for money and the staff are so friendly. Definitely worth a visit.

We were impressed with the food, the staff and above all, the owner, Vito! The first time we visited, we didn't have reservations, but despite the fact that the restaurant was extremely busy, they made a place to accommodate us. Based on that first visit, we made reservations and returned for another meal. We would gladly visit again if or when we return to Edinburgh.
