First visit to the Malt Shovel. The car park was a little tight but the landlord and waitress were very friendly, the food was great and the portion sizes very generous. Will definitely be going back.
Great meal with fantastic service, particularly enjoyed meeting Harper the cockatoo 😁
The food was really good. Our second visit. Shame the hand held computers were not working properly for the waiting staff and this must have caused a backlog in the kitchen. Told 15 minute wait for puddings. These things happen and we have not been put off going again
Booking a table was easy. There was plenty of choice on the menu and the food was excellent.
A regular meeting place with some friends, regular because it's good. Great food at good prices, friendly staff always make us feel welcome. here's to the next visit.
Good Sunday lunch on a very busy day for the staff. Everyone out in the sun.
Great service , lovely food and delicious cold white wine , just what we wanted.
The food was very enjoyable, the staff were friendly and polite
Food was slow arriving and a lasagne had clearly been kept warm for some time as it was dried and crusted onto the dish. This was brought to the staff's attention and was replaced. Food otherwise ok but certainly not great. Staff were ok with one guy in particular being efficient and helpful. Could do with a bit of attention from a feather duster. A large spider was moving all the way from it's home behind the emergency light above the top table (by the fire place) to near the main entrance without actually touching the ceiling - by walking only on spider's web that was hanging down. At least it kept us entertained while we waited for the food! We've eaten here a number of times before and it's always been much better than this. Don't know if it was just a one-off, or if it's changed hands? I hope it's back up to the previous good standard if we decide to go again.
VERY VERY BUSY; GOOD SIGN THAT MALT SHOVEL POPULAR, BUT !
The service was good and the food was great. If I lived in the area, I would visit again.
Lovely meal very friendly ,helpful staff. Would definitely visit again if in the area.
Great food, great service, great atmosphere, just how a great pub should be
We met up with friends for lunch. Lovely weather so drinks outside before lunch and coffee outside after . Great atmosphere and good service
Wonderful experience, Unusual pub with a great menu including liver and Irish Stews. Welcoming and friendly.
Nice quiet pub excellent service and food I can highly recommend.
Friendly and tasty food. Oreo ginger cheesecake was an absolutely outstanding dessert
Excellent food, great staff, had a really nice evening, dog-friendly pub. We'll be back!
My wife and I had had a nice evening meal the previous weekend so thought we'd try the Sunday lunch. Not as good! Disappointed with the meal, as well as cabbage and carrot there was one large parsnip and two large 'roast' potatoes. The latter two veg were very much under cooked. Shame really as we'd thought we had found somewhere local that wasn't too costly and served food to our liking.
Good food as always, with good service, prompt without being rushed.
The food & the ale at The Malt Shovel are always excellent. The landlord & staff are really friendly & there's a great atmosphere. What's not to like? Brilliant in every way.
Very friendly, we had a side room reserved for us as I had a small dog. The food was very good and plentiful - the chip shop board was really good, as was the burger. Deserts were very generous, and tasty. Good value for money too. Will be going back
New oven obviously working well, food was lovely as always
We had a great evening, lovely food & good company
We booked a table online and when arrived we were greeted and shown to our table. The service and the food was lovely. I would definitely recommend this place 😊and will definitely be back next time we are in the area 😊
Good choice of food, it was lovely and hot, first time dining here and we will be back.
Prompt service, nice food, great ‘eating out to help out’
Meal was lovely. Staff were excellent. Will definitely go again
Food was poor. Not fresh produce. Cooked from frozen, then overcooked.
Great to visit a pub for the first time in 3 months, and a very warm welcome and excellent service throughout. We’re sure to book again next time we are heading North/south.
Fabulous mains, best pork roast I’ve ever had, great roasties, lovely veg perfectly cooked and the meat was big chunks with crispy crackling. Sticky toffee pudding was also the best I’ve ever had. Can’t believe I’d never been before. Think we just found a new favourite.
Lovely food great staff. Will be back. Best brownies ever
The food was really good and the staff very friendly
Excellent food service and atmosphere will definitely be returning soon
Fantastic food and very welcoming. Thank you for your amazing service
Very very poor food mashed potatoes should not have whole potatoes in it. Pie crust burnt black, fish all batter and little fish content. Not a good experience will not be hurrying back.
Lovely food & very friendly staff , can’t fault it !
Excellent food and service as usual, good price and atmosphere
Amazing service and tasty in house cooked food very gastro style and very family welcome. Definitely will be visiting again.
Party of 9: celebration for a 50th birthday. Lovely Sunday roast, beautifully cooked, my own cake and candles permitted and they even played the "Happy birthday" song. Bailey's coffee to finish was fab. Great atmosphere, food and service, highly recommended.
My wife’s beef had excessive fat on it. Spoilt her dinner. Halloumi chips were nice. Roast chicken was fine
Warm welcome lovely village atmosphere reasonable prices. Traditional pub with ample parking
This was our first visit since the management changed. Service was good and the food excellent. Will be back!
Great food lovely atmosphere looking forward. To another visit soon
Very friendly and welcoming. Food very good, great value and large portions 😁.
Paul & Jo have turned the Malt Shovel into the place to dine in the Warwick area. As you walk in through the door you are welcomed by the warm smiles and incredible aromas from the hard working kitchen. The food is exceptional, well priced and is delivered promptly by courteous staff. I wholeheartedly recommend a visit before it becomes difficult to book a table.
