Lovely lunch. Good pub food very in relaxing cosy atmosphere
The restaurant was very noisy with kids running up and down, unfortunately we were near the garden door which they were in and out of and constantly leaving open, not a good idea on a November afternoon. I had the belly pork which I found had a very strange flavour which was not enjoyable at all, my wife had the Thai chicken curry which she said only vaguely resemble a curry without any of the fine aromatic flavour you would normally expect from a Thai curry. My mother had the baked cod which she said was delicious. Also, I found it incredible that they had no provision at all for the disabled, my mother at 96 found it very difficult getting in and out of the building. To cap things off their card machine was not working, which we were not warned of, it was only by pure luck that we were able to raise enough cash to settle the bill.
Nice staff, good food, reasonably priced, we had a lovely time.
Easy to book. Great staff. Beautiful food. Really tasty. Highly recommend.
Friendly staff, food was pretty good, couple of the puddings had sold out sadly but the main highlight were the llamas in the field out side. Cool
Fantastic food in a warm and friendly environment. Spot on!
The usual excellent experience. Took visitors from Norway who also enjoyed the food and service. Good food served speedily. Also impressed with the ability to change up main course to accommodate vegetarian. Thank you. Finished off with the obligatory visit to the Llamas. Love this pub.
Great lunch lovely service super location thanks for very much
Welcoming staff and good portion size. Will definitely visit again.
An excellent pub to stop for lunch while on a walk through the Surrey Hills
Great country pub, lovely food and great service. Couldn’t ask for more for Sunday lunch.
Service was very slow considering pub was very quiet. Food quality was average. Menu promised so much more. Would return for a drink but not for food.
Very good food, friendly welcoming staff. Would certainly go back again.
Lovely pub with good food need more bitter on tap
Good menu, lovely staff, great atmosphere. One of our group had the pigeon and declared it fab. Only minor gripe was that the fries were not as hot as they could have been. Overall, a great experience.
Had a really good time. Couldn't fault the service, great atmosphere. Would definitely recommend this pub.
Sunday lunch - excellent pork and nice puddings .whilst staff were good , waiting time was long as after party of 30
Great Food, Great Service. Great Location. Lammas in the paddock.
era molto buono; buon cibo e molto gentile gente anche
A very friendly, relaxed village pub in a lovely setting with good pub food. Not a great deal of choice but what they did was tasty. We loved being able to play boules in the garden, especially as we visited with Italian friends.
Haven't been to the Merry Harriers for a few years....what a pleasant surprise. Great food and service (a little bit quiet if I was being really picky) - great evening meal. We will return
Just a lovely Saturday evening in a wonderful local pub. Great food and service,
We chose to sit inside and were served very quickly by a very cheery girl. Sightly disappointed that there wasn't much of of a vegetarian option apart from a risotto. We weren't advised of the specials board and only saw this when we left the pub. No one came over to offer more drinks. The pub is located in a beautiful setting
We went with a party of 8 and all the food was great. The staff were friendly and chatty. The garden is amazing for children and they were entertained with the swings, see-saw, boules and llamas!!
We have been coming to the Merry Harriers since the early 1990s and have always loved it but never ate there - the food is now wonderful!
Was a lovely place, staff were very friendly and the food was excellent. The pub was very friendly place to go and a beautiful setting with a well maintained garden at the back.
Warm greeting. Service very good. Food was delicious. Would defiantly go again. 😀
The Merry Harriers is a wonderful country pub, with a superb outlook and lovely outdoor setting for summer dining. We went for an early Sunday lunch and were seated in the lavender filled garden at the back by very courteous and cheerful staff. The Sunday lunch of Belly pork was presented well with plenty of veg and crispy roast potatoes. The local apple sauce set it off. The gravy was amazing. The Roast beef was equally excellent with horseradish sauce. Could not recommend it more and we will certainly be back!!
We had a pleasant Friday evening. There was only one place left in the car park when we arrived at 7pm. Not sure where else we would park? The place is a lovely old pub, the service was excellent, the cider was great but ... our belly pork was rather dry with a rather tasteless dark brown sauce/gravy. It was rolled and sliced rather against current practice which may explain the dryness. Nothing wrong with it but not as tasty and tender as we were expecting. Not very special for a daily special.
Lovely location & very friendly staff. The pub has a great atmosphere & is very welcoming. The only slight down point is the lack of vegetarian options, but the food that is served is extremely good.
Booked lunch, drove 20 miles to pub only to find pub holding a private function. No lunch! Thanks for nothing !
Lovely location, plenty of parking, great friendly traditional pub. The food is amazing and of high quality. Will definitely be going again.
we love the Jazz jam and I think the only comment for improvement would be to have a proper high chair in situ (a wooden one) rather than one that straps to the chair - I appreciate that space is tight at the pub though!
Amazing food but band setting setting up with door to outside wide open when everyone is eating is a bit disorganised.
Disappointing, bland and overcooked food (some we had to send back) and slow indifferent service
Lovely Sunday lunch and great to be back at the MH. Friendly service and delicious menu.
Amazing food the Llamas are sweet and had such a nice random Saturday lunch :)
Stayed for 2 nights. Excellent breakfast and very good evening meals. Good choice and good value Would recommend
My daughter loved the Llamas. Lovey atmosphere. Great place. big thumbs up
Lovely friendly atmosphere and great food as well as the llamas!
High quality food, good atmosphere and excellent service. Thank you.😎
The Merry Harriers was very disappointing. The "slow roasted pork belly with crackling" was actually a plate of over cooked pork ribs with a small serving of belly on the side and not a piece of crackling in sight. The roast potatoes were also dry and had clearly been reheated a good few times. The pub was very busy and there was an open mic jazz event going on (mid afternoon on a Sunday), which was way too loud, so conversation over lunch was near impossible. We were very disappointed with our experience at The Merry Harriers and wouldn't recommend it at all.
Once again had a fantastic lunch at the Harriers. Such a welcoming pub with great fiod and drink. The Shere Drop ale went down well!
We found salmon in the vegetarian dish so would not recommend to people with dietary restrictions.
The pub is very warm and welcoming and the staff were very helpful and friendly. I would have rated you higher but the food we had was a little disappointing We have the risotto which was quite watery and bland.
Lovely meal but the choice of veg with the roast let them down. Friendly staff. Beautiful setting. We will be back . Very easy to book on this site.
Good food at a reasonable price. Cosy inside and a friendly service. Lots of walks from the doorstep in beautiful countryside. Definitely worth a visit.
Went to the Merry Harriers last weekend for an anniversary, and it was absolutely brilliant as always. The new shepherds huts are a great idea and we loved having a nice warm wood burning stove on a cold day. Such a great place, thanks.
Warm and welcoming pub with a good choice of beer. We were all smitten with the 'fruit cake '. Great menu and good service. Our waitress came to tell us when our meals were being plated up and brought us any sauces beforehand which was a nice touch. Would definitely recommend.
The food is good although there is not much choice for vegetarians. Staff very helpful and polite. Nice open fire in bar area giving a warm welcoming feel on a cold January day.
