The Mustard Seed Restaurant

While the drinks and food were good, they were out of a couple of desired food on offer on the board. In addition, the service was not good. It seemed to be a chore to seat and serve us despite having reservations and our requests needed to be repeated. As I said, food and drinks were good, so may have been an off night for service.

We had a fantastic lunch! Great menu, lots of choice and beautifully presented. All at a great price 👍

Were seated downstairs in a side room which was freezing every time someone opened the door (which happened a lot). Thankfully when I resorted to putting my jacket on we were given a table upstairs which was much cosier! Thank you staff!

One of us was vegetarian and her experience was very poor. There was only one vegetarian option on the lunch menu- penne pasta, tomatoes and feta cheese. It was bland, unimpressive and we could have made it better at home. The vegetarian options should be as good as the meat/fish options in the current climate with adequate protein content rss as thee than carb heavy. The meat option was fine. Suggest some work needs to be done on the vegetarian offer as this ruined the experience for all concerned. Having said that, our waiter was great. Thanks

An absolutely delicious, seasonal, healthy menu. Real focus on local ingredients. The atmosphere feels special without being pretentious, and the staff are so attentive and friendly. Service was super fast. Second time here and will definitely be back!

From the time we arrived until we left, the serving staff worked as a team to make sure everything we ordered arrived promptly and was to our liking. The food was innovative, beautifully presented and delicious. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Inverness!

Lovely welcome from friendly staff, which makes a massive difference to overall experience. Food delicious. We both had the chicken which was perfectly cooked and the sauce was delicious too. The chocolate and orange cheesecake was excellent and I tried my mum's apple crumble which was the real deal, proper crumble!! Best place to eat in Inverness. Can't fault it. Wish we lived here.

Met our family for an evening birthday meal. Excellent service with good space between courses and everyone enjoyed the food. Upstairs table with a view over the river added to our experience. Will certainly come back.

An amazing visit to the mustard seed. Food was excellent and service was top tier, the meals came out in a timely manner did not feel rushed. Booked the table for a birthday dinner and requested a seat over looking the river ness that did not disappoint. Really appreciated the attention to my request, nothing else was asked for in the request. The sparkler and scoop of ice-cream was a wonderful touch, couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Four of us went out for a pre-Christmas dinner, great food and atmosphere in the restaurant. The views over the river were great, Christmas lights switched on, a real buzz about the place. Well done to the Mustard Seed team!

We had a lovely lunch, service from our waitress Kalla was excellent. Lovely young girl, 10 out of 10 for her. We had an issue which we explained and was going to be dealt with. Food was amazing, as always.

Great dining at the Mustard Seed tonight. Haggis starters, piping hot Fish pie, roast chicken with a cheese and leak sauce, seasonal veg all excellent. Service was on the ball and we shared a cheesecake fo finish the meal. We'll done to the complete team.

Another great meal at the Mustard Seed. One of us had the steak, and the other had the chicken, both really tasty. Shared an Orkney fudge cheesecake for dessert, topped the meal off nicely. Looking forward to our next visit.

Service was not great, we couldn’t be offered Prosecco glasses for our Prosecco as they were all out on another table - I would have thought you should be able to cater for all tables

Two of us went for the early evening menu, good value and really tasty. Not too busy so no gaps between courses. Service was friendly so all in all a great night out!

Service from staff was very good, so was the food! The only downer was the odour from the log fire, the flue has to be faulty. All our clothes smelled of fumes, had to wash them all before we could use them again!

Food was okay at best. Steak overcooked, salmon Hollandaise sauce was odd tasting. Service was awful. We were repeatedly ignored, asked for more water several times only to see server come by table four times without water. We finally were given more water as our check arrived. I will note that was only beverage ordered. Server asked how the food was then immediately turned away without waiting for response. I tipped but wish I hadn’t. We’ve been looking forward to this since our last visit in 2022 when we couldn’t get a table. Very disappointed.

Amazing!! The two course lunch is SUCH a great deal and the options were fabulous! I also ordered a drink with Scottish Gin (Highland Negroni) and Panna cotta for dessert. Everything was perfect. I had a table by the gorgeous fireplace and service throughout was spot on. I'll definitely be back on my next visit to the city.
